This was my 2nd time dining at Emeril's signature restaurant and I found the food much improved over my first visit in 2009, when the food was incredibly salty. We didn't have a reservation but we got there shortly after the restaurant opened for the evening and our party of 5 was seated promptly.
A team of waiters served us - they were very knowledgeable about the menu and attentive.
The meal was good, but I think we were hoping to find more traditional Creole dishes on the menu (with Emeril's unique take on them of course; we regularly use some of his Creole recipes at home and they are delicious). My father had the chicken along with the seafood gumbo of the day and found both dishes to be delicious (even down to the brussels sprouts). My mother had the seafood gumbo of the day & the angel hair pasta with the crawfish sauce and seemed to enjoy both dishes. My husband & my sister had the fettuccine "Nero," which my husband felt you could find in any good Italian restaurant. I had the andouille crusted drum, which was delicious.
For dessert, the 5 of us shared the upside down whiskey pecan cake with sweet potato ice cream (surprisingly good!), the chocolate peanut butter pie, and the banana cream pie (listed in order of enjoyment).
