We spent 3 nights at the Jean Lafitte House Oct. 11-14, 2013, while attending a wedding at the Kingsway House just across the street. We would definitely stay there again. The location was as good as it gets - we walked to the French Quarter several times a day & night. There are neighborhood grocery stores close by for essentials (Diet Coke). Other than no elevator (we stayed on 2nd floor and it was not a problem), we had everything we needed. Loved hearing the horses' hooves (carriage rides) clip-clopping down Esplanade. We sat on the balcony every night until after midnight. Our only suggestion to management was that they could use better quality chairs & tables on the balconies. Air-conditioning worked great. Third floor would probably be the quietest. Again, we were on 2nd floor and it was fine. Swimming pool is very small and we didn't use it - but then again, we didn't go to New Orleans to go swimming. You get the feeling of being part of a NOLA neighborhood instead of just staying in a hotel. For the money and location, this will be our new "go to" place whenever we travel to New Orleans.
