“An oasis for expresso lovers in NO”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2013

We are New Zealanders who love our coffee and tried hard to find cafés with expresso machines, good beans and staff who could make coffee. No luck until we found Spitfire coffee. We trekked back daily while in New Orleans. Fantastic coffee. Our group drank long blacks and flat whites so good across the spectrum. Sorry can't remember baristas name but she was very good at her craft and friendly. Highly recommended

Simple as above. Really good coffee. No real seating but friendly service and top beans. Well worth finding

“Great coffee one day, average the next”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2013

We had the best coffee in Louisiana when one barista made it and we were lucky enough to have her make our coffee for three days but then she went on holiday and a different girl made them and they were average . Really disappointed, such a shame that the coffee is not consistent with different baristas, especially with this being a dedicated specialty coffee shop they should be always be great. Both girls were really nice and friendly but the bigger girl with wavy hair and a few tattoos made a great coffee

“VERY good espresso”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

Having been spoiled by a time in Rome I have always tried to find good places for espresso when I am travelling. Spitfire Coffee is a very small place but specializes in coffee and does it quite well.

Now everyone has a different pallet so simply saying "the coffee is good" won't be of much value. The most I can say is that the espresso I had was freshly ground, well made, and had a very smooth flavor with a good kick of caffeine. They also offer a variety of drinks (from espresso and tea to cappuccinos and mochas) and even a variety of good drip coffees. When we were there they had just started offering some pastries (muffins really) which I did not have as I was only there for a morning cup.

Very good price considering the quality of the coffee ($4 for a double espresso and a single espresso) and the place felt very artisan. Well worth the stop if you need a jolt of coffee but there isn't much else if you wanted a "coffee shop" with snacks/lunch/etc.

“Well crafted coffee”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013 via mobile

I drink a lot of coffee and spent a lot of the going from cafe to cafe finding good coffee. Spitfire was definitely the best of the day. It was strong, tasting quite unique, and something that really matters to me - served at the perfect drinking temperature.

It's got a very cool vibe. It's a bit of a hole in the wall and there was minimal seatng from what I could see, so if you're looking for somewhere to while away a few hours it's probably not for you.
