“Perfect!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

I surprised my husband for his 50th birthday with a trip to New Orleans. First time for both of us. Auld Sweet Olive was perfect. I chose this place because I wanted to be away from the hustle and bustle but close enough that we could walk. This gave us a nice local experience because we had to walk through the old Marigny section to get to Frenchman Street and the French Quarter. (And if you want a local experience, stop into Marie's Bar around the corner...awesome Bloody Mary's) We stayed in the Sweet Olive room which I chose because it had its own private entrance. Although the bathroom was small, it served its purpose. Nancy is a wonderful hostess and cook. The breakfast was beyond expectations and I always left stuffed in the morning because I wanted to try everything. Nancy was also very helpful leading up to the trip with suggestions on activities and restaurants. We couldn't do them all but the ones she recommended were wonderful. I highly recommend to have a complete NOLA experience!

Having never been to New Orleans, it was my hope that by staying in a B&B (rather than the stereotypical hotel), we would have the benefit of an 'insider's view' of NOLA. Our experience was better than we could have ever expected! Nancy and her staff made some of the best suggestions for activities, places of interest, best dining options, etc....it was fantastic! We had a blast and will definitely be return visitors to the Auld Sweet Olive B&B! Additionally, the location of the Inn in relation to The French Quarter and the jazz clubs of Frenchman's Street was the absolute best! We hardly needed to use our rental car! Thanks again, Nancy, for helping to make our stay a memorable one!

My husband and I have been to New Orleans several times to meet up with our friends who live in Lafayette, LA. The four of us booked Auld Sweet Olive for Halloween weekend and split the 2 room suite. This beautiful and peaceful B&B is by far our favorite place that we stayed in NO. The owner, Nancy, is such a pleasure and her staff too. We enjoyed all the yummy breakfast goodies each morning, the coffee especially was a treat. Clean private rooms with gorgeous decor, its own private bathroom stocked with locally made soap, shampoo and conditioner that smells so good. Mostly everything is within walking distance, Frenchman St. (Marigny Triangle) is a very short distance or you can jump on the electric streetcar near the French Market to explore further out. We highly recommend the Auld Sweet Olive! Our group (2 couples), will definitely come back again. Thanks Nancy, to you and your staff for the wonderful hospitality!

Visited new orleans over halloween weekend. Chose this B & B in the marigney. It is one of the best places we have stayed and would recommend it to all travelers. The owner Nancy and her staff are a delight and the house is wonderful each room with a great bed and bath. She has won several cooking awards locally...so you are lucky every morning to see what she has prepared. The location is close enough to all the locations in the quarter..it is far enough away to relax after those days of partying. This all happens with a great price.. Do yourself a favor and try this place.

Enjoyed this wonderful B&B and owner, host Ms. Nancy makes the stay seemless. The rooms are clean with private bathrooms and delicious breakfast treats each day. I highly recommend the Auld Sweet Olive! Ps: easy walk to the French Quarter too.

We stayed 3 nights and completely enjoyed our stay. The home is beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed breakfast in the lovely courtyard. Nancy is very kind and helpful but not at all intrusive. We highly recommend the Auld Sweet olive and will be staying there again.

The location of this B&B is just perfect, being a few blocks away from Frenchmen St. Nancy made us feel truly welcome and we would have no hesitation booking future trips here. We loved every aspect of our stay.

Room Tip: All rooms would be lovely.
