Visited here two days ago and was very pleasantly surprised. The venue is a 15 minute cab ride from the French quarter in New Orleans and is located on Magazin Street (a hip street lined with bars, cares, boutiques and other useful services).
The restaurant is nicely decorated, lots of windows, welcoming staff and most importantly very nice authentic Vietnamese food. We had summer rolls with lemongrass chicken, a Bahn Mi (vietnamese baugette) and Bahn Thit Nuong (noodles salad with grilled pork, vegetables, herbs and sweet chili dressing) - all were perfectly cooked, promptly delivered and served with a smile. My only slight criticism is that the chili dressing did not have enough heat.
The locals have got a little gem there. I would recommend those staying down town to make the trip out by taxi and take a leisurely walk back into town afterwards.
