“Great Location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

The hotel is located in the warehouse district and the area is somewhat drab, but the hotel itself was nice, rooms clean and comfortable although as stated in previous review something as simple as a "too short" shower curtain was a pain. The staff was great and the location was perfect; close to great restaurants and the convention center. Easy walk to the French Quarter and casino, had a great stay. I was on the second floor and the "mood" lights in the courtyard were shining right in my window.

Room Tip: Try not to get room adjacent to their 2nd floor courtyard, they set up special events (tables) right...

overall the hotel was very nice located close enough to quarters to visit when you want and close enough to galleries to visit as well
work out area a bit small had to wait both days for a machine pool area looked inviting but not in winter weather but the pool area is on the roof top so we enjoyed going up for a glass of wine in the evening
rooms good size and staff very pleasant

Room Tip: you do not want a center room everyone can see in if you do not have curtains closed

Lobby and room hallways were really nice. Room is just ok. Beds are nice. Towels not as fluffy and luxurious as you would expect for an upscale hotel. Shower curtain is hung so high that its hard to keep water off of floor. As expensive as rooms are would it really be asking too much to have free WiFi?

You can feel the vibe immediately when you walk in! Nice staff at the front desk. Great interior lobby, nice glass separating restaurant. Got a quiet corner room on 3rd floor. Absolutely no view! The gem is on the roof! Loved the pool, the hot tub, and could watch the parade go down the street. Nice pm to relax, before the evening. Would stay here again because of the great pool.

Room Tip: No exterior view, but quiet. Interior view is pretty, but no privacy.

A five minute walk to the Quarter and convention center. Other reviews complained about outdated rooms, but believe the remodeling is now complete.

Service and front desk staff were friendly. Bar was crowded, but service still efficient.b

Hotel is clean and tidy. All good.

Room Tip: Be sure and ask if your room has wi-fi. ibt is spotty throughout the hotel.

Just returned from a super Bowl weekend in NOLA, staying at the Renaissance Arts. The hotel is really fine from most standpoints. Just nothing to really write home about. The location is pretty central, and accessible to CBD as well as the French quarter. I can tell you that it is not a plus to be staying in the French quarter! The lobby is nicely decorated, but the rooms do not meet the same standard. Spacious and functional, but extremely bland with no particular character. The service was decent, but on one day, my room was completely overlooked by Housekeeping and not touched.
In short, not a place to avoid, but not a place to look forward to. I'm sure there are better choices in NOLA.

Room Tip: I was facing the courtyard and that was fine.
