This place is clean, staff is friendly and helpful, LOVED the kitchenette, cuz we stayed 4 nites, so we could have cold drinks, some food in the fridge, plus having dishes and silverware, the stove, microwave, etc. We liked that it wasn't near the hub-bub of the FQ, but negotiating the taxi situation, was a little precarious. Soooo, we took a taxi from the airport to the FQ, after we landed...which cost about 30 bucks, which is standard...but then, that driver tried telling us that we would have to pay an extra 14 dollars a piece, to go over the bridge(over the Mississippi) to get to our hotel and didn't explain why...which was total b.s. The situation is this, some taxi company's have only certain sections/area's of town where they are supposed to take and pick up fares. Soooo, before getting into a cab, ask what is standard and what is extra...cuz we found a great guy, named Charles, who ended up being like our private driver..:-). He would pick us up and take us back to the FQ..and only charged us the going rate, which was 18 bucks, 1 way, for 3 people...which was the right way to do things. It was worth the taxi fares, to us, to go back and forth over the bridge...so, we could stay where we were...vs...the price of a hotel in the FQ for 1 nite. We figured out that we spent about 300 bucks total, for taxi's, split between 3 people...that's 100 bucks a piece, for 4 days VS 1 nite in the FQ, at a hotel. We SAVED a LOT of money, that we then used to do other schtuff with. :-) If you want to pay for the convenience of staying in the FQ go for it...but if you are ok with how we did it, that's cool, too. I just hope that this review helps, either way. :-)
