“Could not have asked for anything better!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2009

We got into New Orleans late Wednesday afternoon, April 8th - had plans to stay for two days, but didn't have reservations anywhere. Well, through Hotels.com, we were able to book a room here for only $84 a night - what a steal! When we arrived, we were greeted by Blair, who takes the place of Mr. Stanley for the night shift. Well, talk about an AWESOME person!! He checked us in in record time, gave us a discount on parking, upgraded us from a king room to a king suite, gave us a map of the city showing us all of the "hot spots" and how to get everywhere, and helped us bring in our bags!! We went on up to our room, which was great - a very large, very clean suite, with everything we could ask for. The bed was very comfy, with tv's in both the living room area of the suite and the bedroom, and, since it was a corner room, we had two different views. After we rested and refreshed, it was back downstairs to talk with Blair - I tell you, he made us feel like we were old friends! He recommended two great places to eat - Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse, and the Acme Oyster House. We were going to do both in one night, but were so stuffed from the wonderful food at Dickie Brennan's, we couldn't eat another bite - so, we did Acme the second night - both restaurants were absolutely top-notch!

The hotel was about a 4 - 5 block walk to the French Quarter, which is not bad at all - you could also take the streetcar down Canal Street to the French Quarter or the Riverwalk if you don't want to walk, but we enjoy walking and seeing all the sites. Blair also booked us on the "Rebirth of New Orleans" tour, which I would highly recommend to everyone - it is a fantastic tour to see the different parts of New Orleans, especially the 9th Ward. The private bus for the tour picks you up right from the lobby of the hotel - curbside service! Blair was a gem - he was so helpful, kind, and truly friendly - and so knowledgeable about New Orleans - he actually helped to make this trip great!! With the great prices for rooms, the awesome staff, the great location of the hotel, the wonderful breakfasts every morning, and the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, it is no wonder that this hotel is rated #1 in New Orleans!

We're just coming back from a wonderful 3-night stay in New Orleans. From the moment we checked in, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and by the terrific day manager, Stanley. He and the front desk staff made sure of our comfort the entire stay and it addressed us by our names the entire time, which made our stay very personable.

We checked in very early and when we were not initially happy with our view, Stanley got us into another room in minutes. Stanley offered us a free upgrade to a larger room the next day when one was available, but we decided that we were perfectly fine where we were.

Free breakfast was a nice start to our mornings in New Orleans and the Quality Inn's location cannot be beat! We were within a few blocks of Canal Street, St. Charles Ave and Bourbon Street (and the French Quarter). We were also literally 2 blocks from the streetcar stops for St. Charles Ave and Canal Street. We didn't have to rent a car at all during our stay... cabs to/from the airport, walking through the French Quarter and streetcar to Magazine Street and City Park.

We could not have picked a better hotel (especially at the price). Highly recommended for the excellent and accomodating staff and great location!

The Quality Inn definitely exceeded my expectations. The room was clean and had plenty of towels. The clerk at the desk immediately gave us a walking map and marked her personal favorite places to eat on it. Parking is off site, but it just across the street. Parking was less than the website says and the hotel keeps your garage ticket so that you don't have to worry about losing it and then they charge the parking with the room so you don't have two separate charges.

The hotel is in a pretty good location, not very far from Bourbon Street and the rest of the French Quarter. It's not a bad walk down to the River or to Harrah's. The hotel is just several blocks away from the area that I had read was shady, but our area seemed very safe. We walked around in the early morning all the way to later at night and felt safe. After around 10 or 11 pm, there aren't a lot of people out on the streets near the hotel, so I did take a cab at that time of night. There was street construction right outside of our room, but it wasn't very loud and definitely didn't disturb me while I slept in the morning. All of the staff members that I encountered were very friendly and helpful.

The website advertises a fitness center, but there's not much there. Just a few cardio machines. There is a Subway attached (you can enter from inside the hotel) and a McDonald's not far away; other food options are within a 5 minute walk.

The absolute best part of this hotel (besides the price) is the breakfast! It varied a bit per day, but essentially you had your choice of waffles, eggs, sausage, grits, fruit, muffins, pastry, yogurt. It was fabulous!

I spent many hours reading reviews on so many hotels before our trip. This was the one that really stood out with sooo many. We found it to be just as great. The location to the places we wanted to go was great, it was easy to walk. The street car was nearby, if needed. We took our 10 year old grandson to No for his first time. I was a little uneasy prior to arriving, but that was not a concern once we got there. We felt very safe,at the hotel as well as the area. The hotel was very clean & the room was very nice. We were not upgraded to a suite, as most had stated, but the room was fine, as we were out most of the time. They did put us on the eight floor because my grandson requested to be near the top. Mr. Stanley & the staff was all I had read also. They were very nice, friendly, & helpful. The free breakfast buffet was good and the price was excellent. I had a travel coupon and the room and parking was only $96.00, fantastic!!! I would advise anyone to stay there and I would stay again.

We just got got back from a great stay at the Quality Inn in New Orleans. It was very close to the French Quarter and it didn't feel dangerous walking in the area, even late a night. The staff was very helpful providing us with maps of the area. We were also given a coupon for a great local Oyster Bar (ACME Oyster Bar). The rooms were a little small but very clean. Our stay was for 6 days and nights. I would recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to New Orleans. The price was also very reasonable. There was some construction out front but it seemed to be drawing toward a close by the time we left.

I am originally from New Orleans and have visited back frequently. My GF loves the city and enjoys returning as much as possible. I've stayed in many hotels in New Orleans and with many travels. This hotel is definitely a top notch place to stay. You get exactly what you expect and more. They upgraded my room to a suite for no extra charge and because it was available. The free breakfast was great and filling. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. The location is right in the heart of downtown New Orleans. The hotel is also located more in the CBD area vs the French Quarters. We felt very safe at night walking to and from the hotel. I am definitely staying at this hotel again. It's very good to know and experiences hotels like this one. Last but not least, the price was great.

The manager, Mr. Stanley and his complete staff went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our vacation. Great 5 star service. I was given great advice on restaurants and local sights. We were allowed to check in early, about noon and our room was changed on our second day to better fit our requirements. The hotel itself was basic, no antiques or courtyards , but very well maintained. Great location, walking distance to the French Quarter. The`area was safe for walking, even late at night. Decent breakfast buffet, hot eggs and sausage or bacon, fresh melon and fruit along with your standard pastries and waffles. Well worth the money.
