Only 2.5 star rated Hotel but with such accomodating staff, clean rooms and away from Bourban Street - it's a very good place to stay.
A free breakfast with room, Checking in early was no problem and we even got a room upgrade to a suite.
Once again thanks to Stanley and his team - this was real service, not the pretend stuff you often get in Hotels!

Room Tip: Not boutique but a bargin

One block off Canal Street and the French Quarter, this is a great hotel for exploring New Orleans. We arrived by taxi from the airport, the taxi driver was heavily pregnant and unable to help with the luggage, but a friendly porter scuttled out to help us check-in and show us to our room. (Unrequested upgrade from a Queen to a Suite, thankyou!) It was a damp night and we asked where we could eat - he recommended Deany's (two blocks over, one down) and he was right, its a great inexpensive diner (& maybe not so inexpensive casino!).
Complimentary breakfast was comprehensive, lots of choices, and we noticed that it continued long after the advertised hours. (well done!)
Walk down Bourbon Street once, then forget it. It's a tacky, over-priced mess. But the rest of the French Quarter is well worth exploring, particularly down by the waterside where the French doughnuts (beignets) at Cafe du Monde are both inexpensive & irrististible.
Take the St Charles Street Car out to the Garden Quarter, you can just imagine those Southern Belles sipping a mint julep on the porches of the wooden mansions.

definitely not for a business trip. I made a mistake and ignored the criticizing reviews. The only good thing I can mention is the nice welcoming and helpful staff. Yet it's not enough to overcome all the shortcomings of this hotel.

Room Tip: ask about window - some are windowless

I was looking for a decent hotel to stay overnight in New Orleans before a cruise. Based on reviews and location, I chose this place, figuring it would just be a clean place to rest my head but not expecting much else. It was definitely more upscale than I expected, and for the price. Staff was very friendly from arrival to check-out. Our whole group was upgraded to suites with kitchenettes and living rooms, and George at the front desk helped us plan out our evening in New Orleans. The location is fantastic-the French Quarter is easily within walking distance, but far enough that you can sleep soundly in peace and quiet. Complimentary breakfast was not only edible, but also tasty. Before we we even checked out, my wife and I agreed that this is the place we'll stay the next time we're in NOLA.

Virtually evertyhing was excellent- all the staff, especially the manager, Stanley, and all the others at the front desk; the elevator (speedy); the common areas (clean and sufficient); the room (great size, comfortable bedding, quiet, dark windows for sleeping); the bathrooms (everything worked well and were so clean), the location (just one block from the Quarter). The only thing that I would rate as fair was the continental breakfast, which did have some choices but the scrambled eggs were dry and the little bagles tasteless. But that was a minor flaw. The value, location, service, rooms, etc. make this a 5 star property. I will certainly return and tell everyone they should stay here.

Ditto with everyone's comments. This place is the best deal out there. It's definitely not a 5 star hotel but it is perfectly fine for a great stay in a great city. The management and staff are helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the breakfasts are more than adequate with hot items too (sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs), and the location is just ideal - within easy walking distance to everything. To top this all off, the rates are so reasonable too. The rate for one of our evenings was considerably higher than the rest of our evenings but the hotel had no problem adjusting the rate to make it consistent with the rest of our stay. We very much appreciated that.

We got lucky booking the last available rooms for the week we were visiting and we are so pleased we did.

WOW, The most amazing service, made me feel that I stayed in a 5 star hotel or better! Stanley, the manager, greeted us and remembered our names for the rest of the stay. He took care of us and really made everything to make sure our stay was excellente. The room was clean, big and very nice. Perfect location and we felt very safe walking home(about 10 minutes) from the French district at night. We enjoyed our stay so much we decided to extend our stay. Thank you Quality Inn and Stanley for a lovely time in Nola. ( A lot of hotel could learn a lot from this one when it comes to customer service).
