“very nice!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

The hotel was very nice, we payed extra to have access to the Regency Club....well worth it. Our room was very small but very well maintained and had a spectacular view!! They had a jazz singer on saturday night. The "pubish, sports like" restaurant didn't have a great menu in my opinion. Also, a hotel this size only had 2 restaurants + a Starbuck. But overall it was a very good place to stay. Plus it was a 10-15 minute walk to the French Quarters so that was perfect.

Room Tip: I don't know if they offer the Regency Club to all the rooms but if you are able to take it do s...

We stayed at HYATT 5 nights with friends and family. It is far from the French Quarters and we had to use a taxi every time. This is a huge hotel and it is not good for eldery. It takes 10 minutes to go to your room.Small rooms for the price with good beds but no good vew.No pool or spa. Also there is a lot of construction. We will never stay there again.

Room Tip: interior rooms are small and dark

The Hyatt Regency NOLA is awful. We stayed 5 days and housekeeping never once showed up. I called every day and spoke to a manager who implied it was my fault. I did finally speak to another manager on the 4th day and insisted we be moved to a room that would be serviced. She was actually very professional and apologized several times. The reservation desk did not mention our package included free parking and internet and only agreed when we brought it up. The restaurant staff complained how overwhelmed they were because of overbooking and not being told the hotel was sold out. There were no glasses in the bathroom and no coffeemaker. The rooms very generic with no hint we were in New Orleans-absolutely no character. I will not stay in a Hyatt Regency again unless there are no other rooms anywhere!

We were looking for a hotel in any area, figuring we could walk where we wanted to go. This is about as far from everything as you can get, and still be downtown. Plus, once you get to the hotel, it takes 10 minutes to get to your room. Our room overlooking the air conditioning units didn't add to my happiness. The room itself was nice and spacious.

Room Tip: You get what you pay for.

Newly remodeled Hyatt Regency on Loyola is first class. Had a room with view of Superdome. Service was great. Only disadvantage is location. Long walk to the French Quarter. Breakfast buffet was excellent, but pricey. Several restaurants and bars on site.

Room Tip: Ask to have view of Superdome. Lights are really nice.

we attended an event at the Hyatt Regency and were underwhelmed. Our room over looked the C units and was dark and depressing. The location is a long way from the ambiance of New Orleans and unless you are attending a sporting event why stay here. It is not safe to walk to the night life of NEw Orleans. The staff was from the Ukraine and hard to understand. The price was not worth the value of the room. We had to walk several hundred yards to get to the elevators and dust everywhere from a construction project. Shame on you Hyatt and shame on me if I ever return to this hotel.

This hotel was great. Clean, nice decor, quiet & plenty of amenities. If you are looking to walk everywhere than this is not the hotel for you, but cabs were readily available with no wait times. Would definitely stay here again.
