“Classy hotel, not so classy service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

Stayed here for 7 night for a family holiday. Staff was generally friendly however the service was just stupid at times. There were 4 of us in the room and it was in our reservation, however we had to ask for towels every single day. Every day when they cleaned the room they only left 3 towels. I know it's a small thing but very annoying for an hotel in this level. And this occurred EVERY day for 7 days.... we also had to keep asking them for cups for the coffee maker - the cleaning staff did not think to refill that while they were cleaning. You actually had to ask for a coffee maker since they don't have them in every room. Location was OK, I was under the impression it was closer to the french quarter, but it was more than 20 min walk with kids and there were no buses going in that direction.

Dear gef_dal,

I am so sorry that you were not pleased with the service you received during your stay with us. Your feeback is important and helps us to improve, so thank you for taking the time to write a review. You may appreciate knowing that we now have a new street car that stops directly in front of the hotel, which can be a fun way to get to the French Quarters faster! We sincerely hope that you will give us an opportunity to show you better service on your next trip to New Orleans.

Best Wishes,
Whitley D.

“Quality Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

Just got finished with a 3 night stay and we had a great time. Close enough to the action and very nice. The recent renovation is very beautiful. Beds are comfortable and showers are hot. Lots of restaurant choices and great amenities. Air on rooms is very noisy though. Overall a good hotel.

“Still not great!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012 via mobile

We stay here when we are going to an event at the Superdome. Location is good for that venue. Everything else here is negative.

This hotel is too big for the hotel staff to handle day to day operations. Last year we were here for the New Orleans Bowl and they were disorganized. They had just reopened and we gave them the benefit of the doubt. We are back. They are experiencing the exact same issues a year later. They can't handle large crowds or events.

Our room is nice, but very small. We have a view of the Superdome and at 7:30 AM the loud noise started coming from champions Square. Don't plan on sleeping in at this hotel. We thought we'd sleep until 9:00 and take our time going over to the game. Thanks to the noise we were up at 7:00-7:30.

The Internet is very high priced when you consider the price of the hotel. At a premium priced hotel free Internet would be nice. I paid for the premium package so I could stream radio from home. The Internet simply reads BUFFERING.

The parking here is just stupid. If they can't handle the parking they should just tell you not to bring a car. You pay for valet and they park your car on the sidewalk totally unsecured, and you pay "an arm and a leg." You also have a parking lot next door for $28/day but you have no in and out privileges. You park your car and can't move it. That's just stupid.

I think that our next visit to the Superdome will include a stay at another hotel in this area. We have given this hotel multiple chances over one year to get their act together. It's time for us to take our business elsewhere.

“Where the Saints Go Marching Out”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

Our annual Boys NFL weekend out. We stayed here only one night but the overall service was excellent. The staff was most helpful with tips on where the locals eat well and have fun. The Saints players actually stay here the night before home games and we had a couple of encounters with them in the corridors and on the elevator which added to the experience. The night before and game day atmosphere was very exciting. The ten minute walk to the superdome was more of a parade. Top it off with a Saints blowout of the Bucs and it was a perfect weekend.

Room Tip: Higher rooms have less noise in general, but the rooms seemed to be very acoustically insulated.

“Worthy of the Hyatt Reputation”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 20, 2012

The Hyatt Regency New Orleans certainly lives up to the Hyatt reputation for luxury, amenities, and service. The hotel is adjacent to the Superdome in the Central Business District and is about 20 minutes from the airport. The staff was courteous and very helpful in answering questions about the city. The room was modern, the bed was wonderful, the large flat-screen television was appreciated, and I had plenty of space for clothing and belongings. Although the hotel is within walking distance of the French Quarter, those not accustomed to physical activity may prefer taking a cab. It features a full-service convention center that was a superb venue for the conference I attended. Although I dined out each evening, the in-house breakfast and lunch buffet for the conference attendees was very pleasing and always included plenty of options for those seeking to eat healthy. The fitness center is located at the top of the building on the 32nd floor and boasts a panoramic view of the city. The in-house Starbucks was very convenient and the 24-hour market shop offers a variety of fresh and pre-packaged food items; it is also a great place to pick-up high-quality gifts and souvenirs. Be sure to order from Pizza Cosegna during your stay. Located in the Hyatt, they deliver organic pizzas made with handmade dough to your door for about $11! The Hyatt Regency is a great choice when staying in New Orleans and it will be my hotel of choice whenever I'm in the area.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the Superdome. The colored lighting is beautiful at night.
