The Hyatt Regency New Orleans certainly lives up to the Hyatt reputation for luxury, amenities, and service. The hotel is adjacent to the Superdome in the Central Business District and is about 20 minutes from the airport. The staff was courteous and very helpful in answering questions about the city. The room was modern, the bed was wonderful, the large flat-screen television was appreciated, and I had plenty of space for clothing and belongings. Although the hotel is within walking distance of the French Quarter, those not accustomed to physical activity may prefer taking a cab. It features a full-service convention center that was a superb venue for the conference I attended. Although I dined out each evening, the in-house breakfast and lunch buffet for the conference attendees was very pleasing and always included plenty of options for those seeking to eat healthy. The fitness center is located at the top of the building on the 32nd floor and boasts a panoramic view of the city. The in-house Starbucks was very convenient and the 24-hour market shop offers a variety of fresh and pre-packaged food items; it is also a great place to pick-up high-quality gifts and souvenirs. Be sure to order from Pizza Cosegna during your stay. Located in the Hyatt, they deliver organic pizzas made with handmade dough to your door for about $11! The Hyatt Regency is a great choice when staying in New Orleans and it will be my hotel of choice whenever I'm in the area.

Stayed here during the high school football championship weekend. This hotel is the unofficial headquarters for that event and every other major event occurring in the Superdome. Rooms, beds, pillows were comfortable, clean and easy to access. The hotel is within walking distance or a short cab ride to the Quarters but far enough to be comfortably away from the noise/smell of the Quarters at night.

Overall hotel is great for business or convention visitors. Also any events at new orleans area or superdome. However located fairly far for normal walking distance from desired new orleans attractions..French Quarter, Harrahs, Uptown, and family entertainment.

My stay at the Hyatt Regency New Orleans was for one night prior to boarding a cruise ship. I found the hotel to have all of the conveniences that I need for an enjoyable stay including a convenient location, great fitness center, friendly staff, and comfortable room. I used the kiosk in the lobby to check in and check out which limited my contact with the hotel staff, but, found those staff members that I encountered by telephone or in the elevators and lobby to be friendly and helpful. The fitness center has the best view of any that I have ever visitied and gave the nostalgic feeeling of the days when it was likely a revolving restaurant. One drawback of this Hyatt's physical set up would be the late evening music that can be heard in the rooms facing the atrium, as mine did. This would definately be a problem if getting sleep was a priority on weekdays. Otherwise the room was furnished with a great comfortable bed, lots of pillows, and functional furniture.
