“Good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 21, 2014

We stayed here for the 2013 jazz festival. The location provides easy access to the central business district, Canal Street, french quarter, etc. The airport shuttle bus is only a 5 minute walk around the block.

Good place, conveniently located (French Quarter) very nice, with great room and bathroom and very clean. The staff at the reception gave us all the information we needed, very very good service.

In summary, a perfect, clean and confortable hotel to visit in New Orleans.

That's all it really had going for it. This place gets labeled a four star and I have no idea why. It's an insult to 4 stars. From the time we checked in the staff wasn't very welcoming and seemed a little annoyed at the front desk. I was the one that waited in a long line to check in but it was as if I was putting them out. Yes, the foyer area looked nice. The rooms were average at best. The shower head had parts that had come off the wall. Again, not 4 star quality. Didn't get to try the bar or restaurant. People will stay here because of the location which is fine and if you got a great rate and were just looking to drop your bags somewhere this will work. It was clean and pretty quiet. But do not expect 4 star service or rooms.

Dear JCA612,

Thank you for staying with us and leaving such a detailed review. I am glad you liked our convenient location. However, I am deeply sorry you found our hotel less than satisfactory. The feedback we receive from our valued guests, like you, enables us to target problem areas. We welcome any opportunity to improve.

If there is anything we can do to make your next stay more comfortable, please do not hesitate to ask the Manager on Duty.

Sincerely,

5 friends and I stayed here Feb. 7 - 9, 2014. Upon our late arrival we had a speedy check-in. The lady's at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. The valet and doormen are always ready to help provide restaurant suggestions and directions. Hotel is just steps away from Bourbon Street, restaurants, and shopping. No need to have a rental car staying at this hotel.

Rooms were smaller than we intended for $269 per night rate and our view of the parking garage wasn't a pretty site. Beds and pillows were comfortable. The water settled in the bathroom sink and it took forever for the sink to drain. The shower water pressure is hard, but great for the muscles after walking around all day.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 13, 2014

Stayed here during Rock n Roll Marathon - it's really nice to be so close to most everything in the French Quarter. All of the staff, from the valets to the front desk, were wonderful - very efficient, friendly, and helpful. We didn't spend a lot of time in the room during our short stay, but it worked well for us and had everything we needed (clean bathroom, comfortable beds). Based on other TripAdvisor reviews/room tips, we requested a higher floor room to get a little further away from the street noise, which I think was a great bit of advice.

Room Tip: Higher floors have less noise from the street (we were on 10th floor and very little noise)

Stayed Feb 2014. Lovely lobby. Standard, clean room. Friendly staff. Perfect location
for your French Quarter stay. Had a nice breakfast in the restaurant, drinks in the bar.

Canal @ Bourbon, where else do you want to stay if you're a tourist in New Orleans? This hotel is in a perfect location to explore the French Quarter. However, the room I had was not as good as the one I had in other Crowne Plaza hotels. It wasn't bad (the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean) but it looked like a renovation is overdue.
