Decor was way outdated and it seems like we were way out of place for this hotel. As a mid 30's white couple we were definitely the odd couple of the hotel. It was more the younger party hard 20 somethings as we found out the hotel does have a rather popular and rather loud club on the second floor! Our room on the 5th floor had a picturesque view of absolutely nothing! Great if you dont want to be bothered by that pesky sun that may wake you if you were out way to late on burbon street! Maybe we should have just stayed at the hayatt regency!

Thank you for your comments. I'm concerned that you felt out of place as certainly that's never the intent of the property. I'm not sure where the impression came that we have a popular club on the second floor of the hotel as we certainly do not have a club venue of any type. We do have a small coffee shop in the lobby of the property however that's the extent of our outlets. Again I apologize if this was misrepresented.

Thank you again for your comments

As always the Royal St. Charles provides top notch service and hospitality. Not only is the hotel well managed and clean, but the location can't be beat! The Royal St. Charles sits in the heart of all things New Orleans- The French Quarter and Bourbon Street to name a few. This is one of my favorite properties, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the New Orleans area.

I have stayed here at least 10 times in the past 3 years...some rooms are small yet the hotel has undergone renovations and those rooms are spacious. So close to everything ...about a block to Bourbon, St Charles streetcar is right out your door, most of the times I have stayed here it's very quiet however if it's Mardi Gras it can get a little loud, but hey it's too be expected , after all it is a non stop party. Front guest clerks are nice, Valet always had a smile and maid service always left the extra towels we requested. This is one of my favorite places to stay , along with Royal Sonesta, Bourbon
Inn, Magnolia Mansion.

Recently stayed two nights at the Royal St. Charles. It's located just off of Canal Street and so close to the French Quarter. Located near all of the street cars and so many wonderful restaurants, bars, beautiful architecture and the Aquarium. Walking distance to mostly everything we wanted to do. It was nice to be so close to things, but still affordable and quiet at night (our first night in the middle of the French Quarter was not quiet). The front desk was so helpful, knowledgeable of the area, and friendly. They held our bags before check-in and after we checked out. Helped us determine when we should get a taxi to the airport and had one ready promptly at that time. We had a queen bed suite which was wonderful! The entry room had a love seat and a chair with a large flat screen tv. The hallway leading to the bedroom was full of floor to ceiling windows with views of the central business district. The bathroom was quite small, but the water pressure was great, fresh towels, soaps, etc. The bed was very comfortable! We both had night stands, a decent desk, local information, and another flat screen. The windows continued on both sides of our room (we were in a corner of the hotel). The curtains were perfect to block out the morning sun. There is a coffee cafe in the lobby - PJ's. It was nice to have something so close. Got a great deal/price booking online "weeknights in advance" through the RSC website. If ever back in New Orleans we would definitely stay there again!!

this is an off the beaten path boutique hotel with excellent rooms. The staff is great , nice, polite and helpful, going the extra mile to let you know you area valued guest. Just steps from the French Quarter without the constant din. We did get a 2:00 AM serenade from an obviously drunk sax on the street, but this is Nawlins!

The valet guys were great. The room was worth the price. The street car runs in front of the hotel and is one block from Canal. There's a mandatory internet charge upon arrival, so note that when picking this hotel.
