We are a mature couple holidaying with a group of seven and enjoying our first visit to New Orleans. We arrived early at the hotel and were delighted to find that all our rooms were ready which was a nice bonus. Check-in was quick and easy with the help of polite and friendly staff.
The room was great, with two very comfortable queen beds and a nice sized bathroom. Everything was very clean and well -presented ---not much of a view but not a problem for us as most time is spent outdoors.
The provision of a fridge, microwave and coffee machine was a very welcome addition --particularly the fridge in hot weather.
The air-conditioning was also a necessity and the slower fan setting meant it was not too noisy to leave on overnight.
We had breakfast most days in the hotel. There was plenty of choice for the served breakfasts with also a buffet option. Not cheap ( average $10-$15 per person, a little more for the buffet) but convenient and adequate.
There aren't too many breakfast places near by as an option but there is a Walgreen's store across the road for basic foods and other requirements.
The hotel is a 10-15 minute walk from Bourbon Street although there is also the streetcar which stops nearby (NB you need the right money of $1.25).
As an older group, this was about the right distance away from the lively French Quarter with the hotel just being a few minutes away from Canal Street. The area near the hotel is slightly run down but absolutely no problem with walking around.
Another option is to walk down Poydras Street which runs almost parallel to Canal Street. This is more of a business area and is quieter at night time.
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel and found New Orleans to be a very interesting city. We enjoyed a great day at the Jazz Fest and had a brilliant local guide to show us the history and contrasting areas of the city.
We found all the staff at the hotel to be very friendly and helpful. There is an interactive computer in reception but there is also a business centre where it was easier to print out boarding passes for our next flight.
The only small problem we had was at check-out. A few of our party had an extra Visa charge on our bill which could have easily been missed through the express checkout system so check your bill!
All in all a good hotel and a good base for exploring New Orleans. Thanks to all the staff and keep up the good work!

This hotel was in a good location, close to the amenities of Down town and the French Quarter. The hotel was clean and the facilities were excellent. The pool was great even though it was overlooked by a half built tower block. The staff here were excellent, I would definitely recommend staying here.

Can't fault the hotel or staff. Complimentary newspaper at door each morning and nice outdoor pool on 8th floor. Like all hotels, cheaper to eat elsewhere but restaurant very good for breakfast (served or buffet), lunch and dinner. Concierge present each day to organise tours and answer your questions. Air conditioning effective and controllable. Fridge, microwave, iron/ironing board and strong hair drier provided. Easy walk to Canal and French Quarter. The area is nice but would advise taxi after sundown. 5th day here. Happy with my choice. Great city :-)

Room Tip: I'm to the front of the hotel. Noticed the noise on first night. Not since. If you will be using...

We stayed here 6 nights, 12th floor room over the pool. The hotel is business standard, spacious, good wifi, king bed a tad saggy but not a major issue. Staff were very courteous and responsive. Breakfast buffet (about $12) had good hot options and an a la carte menu as well. Convenient walk to the French Quarter, as many have noted, although we were cautioned by more than one person not to walk in the immediate hotel area after dark, even to the nearby streetcar stop.
Our main negative was the noise of the a/c unit which was about a foot from the bed and which did not cycle off, but had to be turned off manually. We were also kept up on Saturday night by noise until 3 a.m. from a nearby club on the street - perhaps that was a fluke, otherwise no serious street or neighbor noise.

Our BMW motorcycle group recently went on a cruise out of NOLA and we stayed at the Holiday Inn Downtown. One of the reasons we chose this hotel is because we could leave our cars in the parking garage while cruising and they have a free shuttle to the dock. One note however...set up your shuttle when you get there, they book fast. Also, the shuttle we were on was not a Holiday Inn van, so don't get left behind waiting for it.

The hotel was very busy when we arrived in the late afternoon. The staff was very accommodating and helpful. The location is perfect for strolling to the French Quarter and there is a restaurant and lounge on the premises.

Our room was decorated in modern décor and was reminiscent of an Aloft room...a balcony was included.

The next day one of the managers, Paul, gave us a card asking us to write a review on Trip Advisor...so, here it is. Thanks for a great time Paul!

We came to New Orleans after my husband attended a course in Lafayette and were so pleasantly surprised with our room (although it had a terrible musty smell that we eventually got used to). My daughter said that we had a patio and upon opening we discovered we were directly poolside! What a great location for the kids! They loved the instant access to the beautiful pool and patio area (book the 8th floor poolside, you won't be disappointed)!!

The staff were very pleasant and helpful. The parking was great, we parked our car and walked everywhere. The area is a bit sketchy....and I would have liked to be closer to the French Quarter but rooms were limited as it was Jazz Fest.

Thanks for a great stay and we would surely recommend and stay again....in an 8th floor poolside room!

Room Tip: Pool side - 8th Floor!!!
