“Good location, walking distance to French Quarter but quiet”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2012

No on-site parking, only valet (2 blocks away) for $25 US per night. They're building a lot behind the hotel but it won't be ready for a long time.

Comfortable beds, typical Drury rooms, good service, but no rooms with balconies at this location. Great for families - find another hotel if you're a couple (lots of noise and kids running around in the lobby during breakfast & happy hour).

The best thing about this place is the location - tucked away from all the noise of Bourbon Streetbut still within walking distance (10 minutes). Free wifi in rooms. Free breakfast & happy hour drinks & food.

We choose the Dury Inn on location and price. The bonus was free breakfast, free 3 drinks every night with food, free WIFI, free coffee in the room, free popcorn. Easy to walk to the French quarter in about approx 15mins. Staff all very helpful. One small criticism, sun shades or something more permanent in places around the pool would be most helpful unless that is not possible due to possible wind

We have stayed in Drury Inns before and have always been impressed but this Drury Inn in New Orleans was gorgeous. The lobby was elegant and beautiful. We only stayed one night as it was the only night available. The rest of our vacation stay it was booked. The hotel was spotless, the breakfast and kick-back hour are great and the manager here was very friendly and accommodating, but most Drury managers are. The staff was great.
You can walk to all the tourist areas and also non-tourist areas in New Orleans from this hotel. We had a wonderful king bed handicapped room which was clean and comfortable. We will definitely stay here again when we visit New Orleans. Next time we will ensure that we can stay more than one night at this Drury Inn.

Room Tip: I think any room would be wonderful.

The reception staff makes you feel very welcome. They are very helpfull.
The room was spacious, clean and has high ceilings. The bed was very comfortable.

As in all Drury hotels there is a free breakfast, a free hot & cold buffet from 5.30 - 7.00 pm, free calls and free wireless internet. I like the concept, but it wouldn't influence my choice of hotels.
The breakfast was nice.

The Charles Ave. street car stops next to the hotel. That's very convenient.
The French Quarter is only 6 blocks away.

If you stay at the Drury Inn, you won't regret it.

We stayed for three nights and were very happy with the choice. Upon entering the hotel, we encountered wonderful old elegance in the lobby with beautiful chandeliers and a grand piano. The rooms have wonderfully high ceilings and we knew that this is a hotel with character and years-old stories. The staff were extremely accommodating, answering any question we had, keeping tables clear during the breakfast and "kickback" times. It was nice to have hot and cold breakfast items, but many hotels do that now. The "lagniappe" (something extra) was the kickback time. It was great to have a late afternoon cocktail hour with drinks, hot food, including hot dogs, macaroni and cheese, nachos, fresh veggies, etc. It's a great way to have a quick bite before enjoying the nightlife in the French Quarter (10 minute walk). When back in New Orleans, we'll definitely be staying here again!

I loved this hotel. The rooms were spacious and quiet with incredibly tall ceilings. The roof top pool had an awesome view of the city and the hotel is walking distance to bourbon street. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was very clean. The staff was very friendly and eager to help in any way. The only gripe I had was everything operates on key-cards and they routinely had to be reactivated in order to get them to operate the elevator and the room lock. Other than that it was a great stay and I would definitely go back.

Why do I say you won't be disapointed well my sister is very picky and she liked it a lot. This hotel with very helpful and friendly staff. Our room was light and spacious high ceilings. Great rooms !!! Top floor !! Frig in cabinet under TV. The location was excellent, positioned about 15 minutes stroll from the French Quarter, The River Walk, and Harrah's Casino . With a trolley bus stop right across the road. The Drury Inn has a 3 free drink card feature, Where free fast food and the drinks are served at around 5 - 7 p.m. And free soda machine all day.
Yes you do have have to use room card to use elevators. Sounds like a pain but keeps out the ones that don't belong.

Breakfast was adequate had waffles, oatmeal, eggs, sausage, Bran, yogurt & more. The parking is $25/day valet parking charge. While the car is parked off lot about 1 block away, if you want something out of car you will have to wait for them to walk to your car and drive it back to the hotel to get it out. Or have them get it and carry back. This is due to hotel expansion work on parking garage - but this will be temporary about a year or more I think there just starting. Everyone in New Orleans charges for parking due to space some charge more.

We walked along the board walk for a while then headed up towards Bourbon St stopped at THE MARKET CAFE 3 draft beers and a 1 soda = $22.00. They do have glasses of White or Red wine from $28.00 to $41.00 a glass.Took tour form hotel to see the, Garden District - Cemeteries - 9 nth ward - St Charles Ave Homes $44.00 cost... I have never been here before and was not to impressed with the smells that comes from under the streets like sewer gas. Bring lots of money $6- $7 for a beer at places. And signs on doors if you enter you must buy a drink, or to use restroom. Harrah's lowest limit on black jack is $15.00 way to much for fun play for some. Had dinner at Harrah's casino Best deal in town for $18.00 -$20.00 only 10-15 min walk from hotel for food and drink included. Brother -in -law saw Coyote Ugly in we went in was happy hour I believe around 2-5 pm.

To the person asking about Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville in N.O. Did no go to that one. We went to Jimmy Buffett Margaritaville in ( Bolixi, MS) to check out the buffet, it's very very small but they had grilled salmon that night so we stayed it was good. Price about $12.00... Most of the things where burgers, fast foods.. Buffet was about 50ft long. I asked about breakfast she said they use fake eggs.
Hope this will help.
