“Accommodated our group”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Reserved a block for our family traveling to NOLA for a wedding. They were very flexible up to our arrival time, gave great rate for this time of year, and were friendly once we arrived. The location is ideal, walking distance to French Quarter and many other NOLA sites, but in a quiet section of town (business/finance distract), so no noise to wake us at night. We were nervous about this with children in our group.

Only cons were the rooms were slightly worn out, i.e. stains on carpet and older mattress. But we noticed that they have started renovating the room, so I imagine this will all be new soon.

I was in town for medical reason as New Orleans has the only hospital in the entire U.S. that is 100% dedicated to breast reconstruction. While staying there - the staff was so nice and caring. I thought the housekeeper was going to cry when I came back to the room and it wasn't done. She was so sweet!
We were very close the the Quaters and walking distance to really anything! The hotel was lovely and I will stay there again when I return to the City of the Saints!

I researched many hotels in New Orleans before booking The Whitney; based on our budget, the hotel's location and ratings, this was the best option for my family. We are glad we chose this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff was helpful and friendly. Even though check-in is 3pm, they had one room ready for us at 10:30am (we did have a small issue with the second room: it still was not ready at 4pm, but that is because they were trying to place us on the same floor near each other). We had asked for rooms on the upper floors to avoid street noise. We told them another room was fine. Unfortunately, the other room was next to a group of people who were dealing shady business all night, with loud noise, money exchanging hands for sex and who knows what else. Security had to come the 2nd night and throw people out; they should have thrown out the women who reserved that room, but did not, so the partying continued every night. But our room, 616, was great - large, comfortable and clean with a huge bathroom. The water pressure was fine but trying to get the shower to work was a bit tricky. Housekeeping replaced the towels every day (and gave us ample towels and soap/lotions). They will only change the sheets by request in order to save water. No room service, but they offer two bottles of complimentary water each day, which is great to take on the road with you. The room also has an ironing board/iron, hair dryer, coffee maker and an awesome lighted magnifying makeup mirror in the bathroom. We did not have any issues with street noise or hotel noise, although a couple of nights we had people try to get into our room in a drunken haze, but we never felt unsafe. Our biggest complaint was regulating the room temperature; it was either too hot or too cold; hard to keep consistent. The hotel itself is in a good location, close enough to walk to the French Quarter (about 6 blocks to the beginning of it), yet far enough away from the craziness. The St. Charles Ave street car is 2 blocks away, as well as the bus stop. The building is a former bank, so the interior is unique, with a bank vault now a meeting area and the tellers' window now the front desk. They offer ice water all day long, which is a nice perk when you come in from the heat. There is a small lobby sitting area with chairs and couches where you can use their computer and printer; they also offer free WiFi and they have a small fitness center. Inside the hotel is a restaurant call Bistreaux at the Bank, but sadly, we did not see anyone in there for the time we stayed. We did not try it either, as there are so many great restaurants in New Orleans that take priority. It is a beautiful establishment, though. Hopefully, they get convention groups that stay there and are busy in season because it would be a shame if the restaurant had to close for lack of business. The front desk staff was fantastic; aside from getting us in a room early the first day, they helped us with directions to the sites we wanted to visit and printed out our boarding passes for the flight home. There were always at least 2 staff members working whatever time we got back to the hotel. The decor is a bit outdated and needs to be refreshed, but since the vibe was a historical landmark, the heavy curtains, wallpaper and fabrics were tolerable. All said, we were very satisfied with The Whitney and would stay there again.

Room Tip: Try to get a room on one of the higher floors, avoid Poydras Street side

Stayed April 18th through the 22nd. The location is great, was able to walk everywhere I wanted to go. The front desk staff was great, helped me with directions a few times. The room was a huge letdown. It was tiny, the water pressure was pretty much non existent and there were 2 stairs you had to walk up to get to the bathroom. Not a big deal during the day but during the night it can be dangerous. Almost fell several times. For the price I was expecting a nicer room.

Room Tip: Request a room that doesn't have steps.

It was our first time to NOLA. We stayed for 4 nights. The Whitney is a easy 10 minute walk to Bourbon Street & French Quarter. It's still close to everything, without the noise from bars on Bourbon Street. Value for money. The staff were very helpful & friendly.

Knotchi, Justin, front desk staff & bell staff...take your pick, because I can't say enough how they make you feel like you are home away from home...and did I mention the very reasonable rates for such a great building?

Room Tip: I have stayed multiple times and all the rooms are very nice. if you can get one, the rooms on the c...

We booked through JetBlue Getaways and could not have been more pleased with our experience. The room was clean, the hotel is in a great location and everyone working there was incredibly nice and helpful. We would definitely stay at the Whitney Hotel again!
