Great hotel in terms of rooms and service. The housekeeping staff and Knotchi in particular were very kind and helpful. The only downside was the dining options in the hotel, but there was so much within walking distance that it didn't matter.

Came into NOLA late at night. The Whitney is a bit dated, which is it's cham. They even have the original vault where you check in. Rooms were clean and spacious. We had breakfast in the hotel and there was only one server. She admitedly knew she was very slow with our table, b/c of a large group that just came in (bus load all at once), so she gave us our breakfast (eggs, french toast, etc etc) for free, besides her being cheerful and friendly, despite the circumstances. Don't get that very often. On the other side of the breakfast room is part of the bank still operating....if anyone's into robbing banks, it could be a thought....eggs, toast, bacon and bucks!!

Room Tip: any room on the street side would be good. It's close enough to the New Orleans "combat zo...

This hotel is a reasonable walk from conference center, stadium and other attractions at a very good price compared to nearby hotels. The building is the converted Whitney Bank Building, and part of the building still houses a bank branch. I enjoyed viewing the wall mural and the large bank vault converted onto a conference room. Like other, older structures, the building is solidly constructed with thick walls that reduce ambient noise. The rooms are modern and very comfortably furnished; the bathroom spacious. The hotel staff is courteous and very accommodating. Though perhaps less formal than one might expect, the restaurant staff are engaging, friendly, courteous and responsive; the home-style food is well prepared and compares well with other establishments, but with much more reasonable prices. All in all, I had a very pleasant stay, free of the impersonal staff, the jostling and the outlandish prices I usually experience at the larger, better known hotels closer in proximity to the tourist areas.

I stayed at the Whitney Wyndham during my visit to NOLA for French Quarter Fest 2014. This was my 2nd stay at the hotel, and it was great. I shared my room with a friend, and we literally had 2 separate bedrooms. That was a big PLUS!!! I would highly recommend the Whitney Wyndham to anyone visiting NOLA. The staff was great. The location can be a challenge if you drive, as there is no free parking in the NOLA Central Business District. However, valet parking is available and there are several lots close by.

This is a fine older hotel that has been updated. The room is fine for one or two people. The staff is friendly and accommodating. It is located close to downtown, the convention center, the French Quarter, the sports dome and the River Walk.

I would not stay at any other hotel in New Orleans! We love the bar and restaurant on site, friendly welcome and service. Quant old décor, we love Patrick and all the staff, just don't know their names. We walk to Superdome and Quarter. Never a problem, never nothing left undone.

There are many fine hotels in this city. This isn't one of them. Slow valet, slow elevators, small dumpy rooms, linens from Walmart. We were here for the game in Baton Rouge on a Saints weekend so prices elevated. It's between a Super 8 and Days inn on "niceness". I feel violated but Alabama won so that's a positive.
