Very unique hotel. Love the courtyard. Great location. Very easy to walk anywhere in the French Quarter and feel safe. The breakfast was very good when I got it. Late nights in New Orleans can make it a challenge to get to breakfast on time, but that's no fault of the hotel...Just an amazing trip.

*Best Western Gold member and first time visitor to New Orleans*

CONS:
Our non-smoking room reaked of an odor that reminded me of mold or maybe stale cigarette smoke. We were given a room (225) on the exterior of the hotel (which I hate,) with a view that looked out into someone's backyard. The elevator is very cramped, holds maybe 4 people comfortably...and barely fit myself and my daughter with our luggage. The hotel is NOT in the middle of all of the places you would want to go but rather located in what I would call the outer perimeter. Bourbon Street, and all the attractions would be on the streets located behind the hotel. Walk out toward the streets in front of the hotel by mistake, as we did, and you will end up in a very dark, scary residential area that you have no business being in. The hotel is in walking distance to the popular streets but it is very dark on the way there so exercise caution and be safe! While the touristy areas are heavily populated the cross streets and dark corners are not. The room included a mini fridge but not a microwave. The room did not have a bathtub. You have to pay to park and you are not guaranteed a spot.

PROS:
Although you have to pay for parking, they charge $20/day which is much less than other hotels (including BW) I have stayed in in other cities. The staff is knowledgeable about the area and can give you directions in the exact number of blocks you need to travel in each direction to reach your destination. Bourbon Street, Jackson Square, St. Louis Cathedral, The River Walk are all within walking distance. I drove many hours through the night and arrived exhausted. Although a few hours before check in time, they happily obliged my request to check in early. The room was clean and well decorated. They have a nice little pool that I didn't get the chance to swim in but it was nice to lay in the sun on their lounge chairs for a bit. Athough the room did not have a bathtub, the walk in shower with glass doors was nice. The beds and pillows at Best Western are always comfortable and their bathrooms are always very clean which is major to me. This hotel provides complimentary breakfast that included cereal, bagels, sausage, waffles, and scrambled eggs. *Weather was perfect this time of year for walking around the city.*

Room Tip: Ask for an interior room.

It's an easy walk to all the crazyness of Bourbon Street yet far enough away to be out of the crazyness, just purrrfic for a couple in their 50's. The room was more than adequate except for the fact that my room overlooked Rampart Street so you had a bit of noise of vechiles on the street at night. The hot breakfast was good, eggs, a different meat everyday, waffles etc..A lot of channels on the TV to chose from, we did have a washout day with 7 inches of rain so staying in the room was more pleasant and free WIFI. One thing that is overlooked by even the hotel is their location across the street from Congo Park now named Louie Armstrong Park, what a beautiful historic, clean large sidewalked area to find peace and tranquility, my wife and I spent a few hours just walking and feeding the ducks in the numerous ponds in the park. It was practically empty of people on a beautiful sun drenched afternoon in Spring ??? Staff was also top shelve probably the nicest BW I have stayed at...I recommend it highly.

Room Tip: get the courtyard if possible, Rooms are a bit noisy on Rampart Street

This is one of the nicest Best Westerns that we have stayed in. The room was newly remodeled and the court yard was unique and pleasing to the eye. The complimentary breakfast was good and everyone was friendly and helpful. The location was great, an easy walk to Bourbon Street, a $10 taxi ride to Louisiana Downs and Manning's sports bar downtown.

A very pleasant hotel in the best location, but the room we have 315 is VERY DARK, one small window looking out on to a wall. The staff are helpful and the courtyard and pool are very pretty. The French quarter is just round the corner.

Room Tip: Don't take a King Room they are apparently all in passage ways, or so I was told.

I have stayed there three times and find the quiet courtyard and pool an oasis from crazy Bourbon st. The breakfast is excellent with real eggs (not preformed things) on dinnerware not plastic and the staff is very friendly. This is a good place to get in the New Orleans mood.

This hotel is clean, nice with a very good breakfast. The courtyard is pleasant and relaxing after a busy day of walking, sightseeing, etc. It is a bit of a walk to the sights but we enjoy walking and the exercise.
