“nice stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 1, 2013

nice little hotel on the outskirts of the french quarter. were there for the rock and roll marathon. room was nice, alittle small but fine for two people. had a nice hot free breakfast and found staff to be very helpful and friendly.was an easy walk to french quarter and glad to be away from all the noise but area (rampart st) was alittle seedy as mentioned but we had no problems.good value for the money.

Upon arriving we were barely acknowledged by the front desk staff, not a good first impression at all. We were in town for the Rock 'n Roll New Orleans marathon.apparently there was a group of fraternity brothers staying at the hotel as well. They were very loud both Friday and Saturday night - nights we needed to get a good night's sleep prior to our race. Needless to say it didn't happen. When we complained to the front desk they were less than responsive. I must say though that when we mentioned it again during our check out, Brunette, the front desk person was very understanding and accommodating, she even gave us a discount. The daytime front desk staff is much more helpful and accommodating than the night time staff. Ty, the bartender, gave us wonderful restaurant suggestions. The neighborhood where the hotel is located is seedy and a little scary to walk through. After the first day we found a different route down to the heart of the French Quarter that seemed safer. If I were to come to New Orleans again, I would spend the money and stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: We were in a room that overlooked the courtyard where the pool is. I would book an inside room inst...

First of all this hotel looks lovely!
The staff is very friendly.
Rooms are comfortable and clean!
There is a little swimming pool but did not use that because it was too cold that days.
Breakfast is good.

The location is awesome! Everything in walking distance! Even Bourbon street.

Would love to go back!

This hotel is located on Rampart at the end of the French Quarter and has been recently updated. The rooms are small, but that is typical of most older building in this area. The pool and outdoor courtyard are quaint. The bar area is nice and the complimentary breakfast was well appointed. I found this to be great value with a very accommodating and personable staff.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that overlooks the courtyard!

Rooms were too small for 4 people. Need to have a bigger selection for breakfast. Only had a small amount to choose from. Staff was ok. Could have been nicer. The plus to staying here was you dont need to rent a car to go anywhere. Everything was walking distance. Neighborhood was quiet had no problem with that.

We came to visit the weekend prior to Mardi Gras. Check in was fast easy and the personnel was pleasant. Our room was quiet and everything was walking distance from our hotel. We had previously stayed in uptown and were delighted to be able to stay in the French Quarter this time around. Rooms are a little small, but comfortable. The courtyard was cozy. The overall price was within reason so I would consider staying here again.

Room Tip: Request a room looking into the courtyard, Make sure to visit Armstrong park, which is right across...

At a time when the whole city is going crazy, this hotel was great. A few blocks off Bourbon so you're out of the crowd when you need to be and quickly back in when you want to be! Every person on the staff greeted me in the halls or at the desk. The rooms have been recently upgraded and were very comfortable. The only negative is the neighborhood. The property is on the edge of the French Quarter and Rampart Street lacks the charm of the quarter streets. Despite that, I never felt unsafe even at 3 in the morning.
