The former Iberville Suites has been renovated and is now a Courtyard. The lobby is on the second floor so when you enter the hotel at street level you take an elevator up one floor to the lobby. You walk through the lobby then to get to the guest room elevators. My suite was on the 8th floor. There was a mini-fridge and sink just inside the door and then couch that faced a wall mounted flat screen TV. Past that, the room opened up and included the bed, work desk and another large flat screen TV with a good channel selection and several available in HD. There’s free Wi Fi throughout the building. It was easy to connect to but tested several times at less than 1 Mbps, which is OK for browsing and email but I didn’t attempt a video chat. The bedside clock radio included an iPhone dock which was handy for charging. There were ample power plugs otherwise for the various other battery powered devices. The bathroom was equally spacious. The lobby level includes a dining area. When crunched for time one morning I had a muffin and OJ for about $6 but with so many wonderful restaurants in close proximity it was the only time I ate on-site. The location is ideal. It’s just a two block walk to the heart of the action on Bourbon Street, but it’s quiet when you’re ready to call it an evening. So-so Wi Fi aside, this may be the nicest Courtyard that I have stayed in.
