“Mmmm ... so/so!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2014

For a market environment, this was quite ordinary. Mostly typical junky stuff of poor quality "Made in China" design. Many stalls with similar items.

Interesting place to walk through, but not somewhere you would tend to find anything of reasonable quality.

“Anatolian Silver”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 1, 2014

The market itself is ok, went specifically to buy silver from Anatolian located around booth 93, sometimes they move them around. I agree with the previous reviewers about Anatolian. I got some really nice earrings and at a great price. Very happy with my purchases. He will direct you to other booths if you are looking for something specific.
I bought a few other things, prices are better here than on Bourbon St.

“Great place for cheap junk”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2013

Wow, pretty disappointed! Not really a decent market at all unless you are looking for cheap T-shirts, jewelry and other useless souvenirs. Nothing like the market in Charleston, SC, which was what we were kind of expecting. Locals say it has really gone downhill over the years.

“Great outdoor market”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2013

After experiencing the extremely crowded conditions of a similar outdoor market in Charleston, I was worried that this would be something similar. Fortunately, I was wrong. The French Market was large enough to comfortably accommodate the crowds, and it made shopping much more enjoyable. The vendors here had some great wares, and everything that I looked at was more than a fair price.

“"Price and Quality"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2013

The French Market was really exciting. In addition to items from local vendors, there are also snacks and drinks available (this was not always the case). I would like to mention that the prices are not bad. I purchased Egyptian Musk Oil from a vendor, but wondered if I was getting a good deal. Turns out, it was a better deal than a beauty supply house, and the quality was excellent!
