If this is really the oldest market in U.S. history, then with that premise...alone...one would assume it would have fruits and vegetables. The only fruits and vegetables I was able to locate were in drink form...many of them containing alcohol. This is a prime example of a flea market full of crap. No matter what the time of day, you can hear foul mouthed four letter words being spewed from the "bar" right across the street (Decatur street)....so, keep your kids' ears covered. Nothing about this market makes it memorable nor enjoyable.

Excellent variety of cheap items. Not a lot of traffic. Vendors complained that the Superbowl kept them from making money. Apparently the city did not advertise the market and many news agencies indicated that it was not safe for people to come to the market.

Found masks for half of what they cost on Bourbon St. Lots of jewelry, music, food .. Fun to spend a few hours and browse the market.

I really liked the French Market, more like a flea market. Tons of vendors some of the typical tourist stuff, and quite a few vendors selling their hand made wares. There are also food booths, fresh fruit, pastries a little bit of everything. I had some great finds, I spent several hours here for sure. Most of the vendors were very friendly and willing to haggle.
