So many different things to see. Many local artists. Fun stroll through aisles and aisles of novel gifts and jewelry.

“Big on atmosphere and people watching.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012

I would recommend this for people watching. There is a great atmosphere and many goods for sale. I bought some reall nice hand crafted childrens toys and the music and banter on the stalls was well worth it. You can easliy be charmed into parting with your money so dont buy unless you ealy want to. Localzs are not embarassed if you say that you do not want to buy. There is the ususal suspects of tie dyed generic travellers clothes on sale, but there are also artisan goods and I really enjoyed the atmposphere. As with any market, keep your valuables close and soak up the sing song accents as you browse.

“Excellent afternoon visit ...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

Selection of this market is food and veg at one end, memorability and trinkets through the rest. MUSIC in the centre. Altogether a delightful pace for a couple hours with a place to sit and hear some music or to grab a bite to eat.

Anatolian Silver in the French Market has a beautiful selection of silver jewelry at very reasonable prices. It is high quality silver and some pieces are unique.

“Family friendly New Orleans attraction”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

The first building in the market used to be a true farmers market. Now they have food booths and seating areas and daiquiri stands. Not the same but still good. The second building houses tables and tables of vendors selling everything from flip-flops to hand-carved jewelry boxes. My sister bought a Cajun children's book that she later saw in a shop on Decatur for $5 more and a pair of shoes that sold for $2 more in same shop. I bought a Mardi Gras mask. Some of the tables just repeat the same old tired tshirts but there are lots worth checking out.
