Wow, where can I even begin? I had VERY high expectations for Boucherie, and this fantastic little restaurant exceeded all of them! I made reservations for a Tuesday evening around 10 a.m. that same morning. Even though we arrived to the restaurant 5 or 10 minutes late, we were greeted with a smile by a most gracious host.
And the evening just got better and better. The interior of the restaurant is SO charming! Quaint, but elegant. As we were the only people in the restaurant for about half an hour, it felt just like having a little French café all to ourselves. When we were seated, the waiter immediately served us a foie gras w/ reduction sauce (didn't catch the proper complete name) compliments of the chef.
Boucherie had an impressive beer and wine menu, including my favorite Belgian beer. The boudin balls were AMAZING. I couldn't even comprehend how delicious they tasted. We ordered the wagyu beef brisket and seared duck as entrees and again... BLOWN AWAY! We wrapped up the meal with the bread pudding and a scoop of ice cream which was also fantastic, but no surprise there.
The service was outstanding. Our waitress could not have been sweeter and I never even came close to running out of a drink. It honestly seemed like the wait staff was already waiting with whatever request I had before I said anything to anyone. Absolutely top notch.
What impressed me most was the atmosphere, attention to detail, quality, and prices. The restaurant itself was so tranquil and intimate. Everything I tasted was just divine. The service was impeccable and the prices were very reasonable. My party of 4 ordered one appetizer, four entrees, a dessert, a beer, and a soft drink for $104 (not including tip). I would have expected to pay so much more in some of the tourist traps in the French Quarter for the same quality food.
I could go on all day, but I will conclude by saying that every person in my party left the restaurant extremely happy. Not a complaint was to be heard. Boucherie was everything I hoped for and more. You will not regret visiting this little gem :)
