After our arrival on the first day, our hotel recommended Royal House for a quick lunch bite. Having been to NOLA on several occasions, I can't believe we hadn't heard of this restaurant. The food variety and quality rivals if not surpasses the others in the French Quarter that are better known. Also, the menu items are very economically priced in comparison to others offering the same fare in the area. If you are a fan of oysters, po-boys, ettouffee , and all things Cajun / Creole native to New Orleans, they cannot be beat. The atmosphere is just the "icing" to make for a wonderful dining experience. We visited twice during our most recent stay, and unlike other restaurants did not have to wait to be seated. Most people will pass by this oyster bar to visit more famous tourist locales, but believe me the food is better with no wait. Great view from the second floor. Great bar on first floor. Try the redfish beignets!
