While visiting the French Market, a couple of the vendors had recommended for us to go to Verti Marte. As soon as you arrive at the store, it doesn't look like much. It's a tiny corner store with a deli counter at the back. You head to the deli and the menu on the chalkboard is extensive! Our group ordered the fried shrimp po'boys and a catfish sandwich.
These were THE BEST sandwiches/meal we had during our whole weekend in NOLA. The shrimp/fish, bread, and all the ingredients was fresh and made to order. The waiting time does take a while, but it is so worth the wait! After we finally received our orders, we walked it back to the park in the French Quarter and sat down to enjoy our sandwiches. In comparison to the other popular place Johnny's Po-Boys that we tried, this place beats it hands-down. We only wish we were able to go more often during our weekend there. Don't hesitate to stop by during your visit to NOLA!
