“don't order the oxtail”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

Ordered the oxtail & fried chicker livers. There was only hint of a few strings of meat, could not taste it as it was covered / hidden in some sort of green pasta, fried chicken livers were okay.

“Expecting A Little More”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

I was really looking forward to dining at Domenica after reading the write up in Departures magazine. Made reservation on Open Table well in advance. Somehow the time got mixed up from 7:30 to 6:30. The hostess was nice enough to make some compensation on the time difference getting us a 7:00 time. The restaurant is loud and bigger than expected. The menu is interesting with a good mix of pasta, pizza and entrees. Our order consisted of a garganelli pasta dish, the porchetta (pork), and osso bucco. The pasta and pork were very good. I expected more from the osso bucco. It was breaded and very fatty. There was very little meat and only a very small serving of steamed radicchio. Thank goodness for the delicious tiramisu dessert. Overall the restaurant was fine. The service was rushed and very casual. Limited wines by the glass. Extensive Italian wine list if you are buying by the bottle. For the price there are many other great restaurants in New Orleans. I probably won't return.

“Eh, overpriced for the quality”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012 via mobile

I hate to be the the only negative reviewer of this place, but we just weren't very impressed. I ordered a pizza with some eggplant on it and it was mediocre. My husband ordered ravioli and it arrived a little cold and the portion was very small. The wine selection was restricted to Italian wines--I know it's an Italian place, but usually there's a broader selection in establishments of fine dining. The atmosphere was nice, however, and they seated us despite being full of reservations. They said we'd have to wait at least 45 minutes and we only waited 15. Or waitress was nice and attentive. It wasn't our worst dining experience, but don't walk miles from your hotel just to check this place out.
