This was a true shame, because the burgeoning art scene and lovely space just seemed empty of content.
The great space is simply underutilized. I came for the biennial, which disappointingly included three tiny rooms in a huge museum. The local artwork was far superior, and fun, and the space is wonderful. But it just felt like a shell of a museum. Compared with the biennial of three years past, it was a joke. This one simply missed out on funding, couldn't attract star artists, created no buzz, and it was impossible to find any discussion about where to go. We even came on December 29 to find many of the buildings closed until Jan 3. There was no notice on the website of this development. Ridiculous.
