Owner description: The partying never stops on Bourbon Street, the French Quarter's liveliest and wildest thoroughfare, where the rhythmic sounds of jazz, country western, Dixieland and sultry blues permeate the air. Brimming with life, you'll find everything from shopping to music to Cajun food to nightclubs.

“Horrendous”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Tat, bars and more tat and bars. This spoilt our visit, certainly not what we were expecting. Very little music, we wanted to get the hell out of there, went in once and never again in the three day visit.

“Drink a lot, listen to good music...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

Bourbon St. is exactly what you expect from New Orleans. Also you will hear bad music and see some not so beautifull naked women, but it is soooo nice, sooo happy...

“Katrina should have finished it off!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012

Bourbon Street is obvious the place to be to drink and act like an idiot. It is filthy. The streets are uneven and extremely difficult to navigate. Everything you touch is dirty. The music coming out of the various buildings was nice, but too difficult to enjoy because of the crowds and the drunks. Lots of different looks on the street but the people are rude and 'in your face'. You have to be very careful where you walk to avoid Horse manure and cracks in the sidewalks and RUDE folks walking into you. The overall French Quarter is charming but not Bourbaon Street.

“Wear closed toe shoes.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

Bourbon Street is a must see in New Orleans. It is basically a party waiting for nightfall. While there in October 2012, there were a lot of road works going on and it was dangerous to be in heels. The architecture is amazing and just like you see in the photos. But, if you are past your late 20's, this is probably going to look sleazy and over-rated. I admit, I still had fun there but the atmosphere changes around 2am in the morning. There is no shame on that street at that time of the morning. Be aware of what is going on around you and watch where you step. The aroma of the place is a mixture of stale beer, vomit and urine to give you an idea of why you should wear closed toe shoes.
