“Honeymoon in New Orleans”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 30, 2012

Hotel Le Marais was the second stop on our honeymoon. We immediately felt at home by the friendly front desk staff who are extremely attentive and helpful and the fact that when you walk in the front doors, the chaos of Bourbon St. is a distant memory. Love the fact that it was a quiet escape from the loud streets. Loved the decor. Loved the drinks at the hotel bar. Bed was comfortable. Bath amenities were great. My one gripe - we were woken up, A LOT by slamming doors. While you couldn't hear anything from the outside of the hotel, from around 6-9AM the hallway doors were slammed over and over. Not sure if this was guests coming out in the morning, or the fact that our room was positioned next to a supply closet so when the maid staff would get supplies, the door would slam shut and wake us up. Besides this, we loved this place and would definitely return.

Our room was very nice, and the service was excellent. We felt like this was a real bargain, especially regarding the location in the center of "the quarter", yet it was easy to find. The room was clean and well arranged. Valet parking is really required.

We stayed in this hotel earlier this month, and I couldn't have been happier with our choice. The staff were very friendly and always willing to help. The vibe of the place was very cool too, it's definitely not a chain hotel, plenty of individuality. The location is also great, just around the corner from Bourbon St so very handy to all the sites, but a world way from the noise and heat.

We came here for a wedding this weekend. This place is great! Great location, really friendly staff and as a boutique hotel, it goes out of its way to make sure you enjoy your stay -- they gave out two free drink coupons for the bar, the bottles of water in the room were complimentary and the breakfast bar was excellent in the morning.

The only drawbacks came early Sunday morning when the bar was still playing really loud music -- I wouldn't accept a room on the ground floor in the future. Also because of limited space in the area, there's no dedicated place to load/unload if you're coming by car and the street can be pretty busy, so I'll take this into consideration next time around.

Otherwise, we really enjoyed our visit!

Room Tip: Don't accept a room on the ground floor on the weekend, since the bar's music can be loud!

Located just off of Bourbon Street, it's great to be able to walk to everything! Within a few minutes walk you can be in the French market, Cafe Du Monde, St Louis Cathederal and much more! The salt water pool is great to dip in when its hot, my eleven year old daughter loved it! The rooms were clean, comfortable and well maintained. My only comment being that the bathroom was a bit on the small side! Breakfast was enjoyed by the whole family! Overall a great stay!

I travel often for work and typically stay at your big chain hotels (Hilton, Marriott, Westin, etc...) that are nice, but usually pricey and charge you extra for everything (internet, breakfast, etc...). So, staying at Hotel Le Marais for a recent long-weekend vacation was a really nice treat, given the price, location, and amenities that were included in the cost of the stay.

Hotel Le Marais is conveniently located in the heart of the French Quarter, a block off Bourbon Street and just a few blocks from Canal. It's a great little boutique hotel with lots of welcome amenities, including:

--free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel
--"welcome" drink tickets for use at the hotel bar (without restrictions)
--a very nice workout facility
--complementary bottled water in the room that was replenished on a daily basis
--free "continental" breakfast that included your usual coffee, cereal, and bread, but also bacon, sausage, eggs and fresh fruit and fruit juices
--a jar of delicious gingersnap cookies at the front desk that you could help yourself to anytime
--fruit flavored water available at the bar throughout the day/night

In addition, the staff throughout the hotel were very courteous and helpful. And while we didn't use it, there is a small saltwater pool in the courtyard of the hotel that looked rather nice.

This is a great place to stay if you want to be close to the action of Bourbon Street, but it also remained surprisingly quiet, even with a street facing room, for it's location. We'll definitely stay here again if we come back to Nola and want to stay in the French Quarter!

An oasis of calm yet only steps from the madness on Bourbon St., this small hotel was a great choice for us. Not being big late night partiers, the room was amazingly quiet once doors and windows were shut. Loved the courtyard and pool area for relaxing with a nightcap although I wished the neon blue-purple lighting was toned down. Great location, near beautiful Royal St. and wonderful restaurants. Easy to pick up a cab to other neighborhoods. We would definitely stay here again.
