“Lovely!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012 via mobile

We just popped in here when passing as we had an inclusive ticket from visiting the aquarium..we were not disappointed. Despite us both being 30(ish) we had great fun. It was fairly quiet so we were able to sit alone for some time in the butterfly garden with the butterflies all around us-truly lovely experience and one I will never forget!

“Ugly Bug Ball”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 9, 2012

Now, I am about to tell you about one of the most interesting museums I have ever visited. Like creepy crawlies? Awww… come on. You know you do!

The Insectarium is so amazing! Imagine what it would be like to instantly shrink to “bug size”. Whoah… pretty cool, huh? Wander through 13 gallery rooms, containing over 70 live animal enclosures, 30 specimen cases, and a multisensory theater. Walk through a Louisiana swamp, or visit a beautiful Japanese butterfly garden. Wonders await you!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

Great for adults and families. Reasonably priced - under $20 nad filled with information and hands on experiences. Ask the volunteers and scientists all you want - they happily will indulge you. Butterfly garden - super! Bug cooking classes will have you screaming for moreor just screaming - worth it either way! Amazing facts and great way to spend several hours! CLOSED MONDAYS.

“Bugs, glorious bugs and a butterfly exhibit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

This is a great museum. Do note that you have to go through "airport" type security to get in so leave your swiss army knife at home. You can see all kinds of bugs and touch african cocroaches Wonderfully eeeewww!!! :-) They also hiss if you wake them up. If you pet the bugs, wash your hands after because it was near the bathroom. Once you go through the end of the exhibit, I didn't see a bathroom. The exhibit is all on the ground level floor. There are live exhibits like leaf aunts doing their thing, meal works, and other bugs. There is a walk through, go underground, portion that would be great for little ones. You can go to a 4d experience theater to see an 8 minute show. If you have allergies, you may want to skip that one. The end of the exhibit walks you through a butterfly room/garden. Way cool. I would wear layers of clothes to peel off because it is hot in there. You can take pictures in the exhibit. This would be great for small kids.

“Creepy crawly fun!”

Great for kids and interesting for adults too! So much to see and do, eating bugs and the interactive movie were highlights! Buy the Audubon Experience and see the Zoo and Aquarium too!
