“One of our favorite places to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 28, 2013

We stay here at least once a year because we have Mardi Gras events we attend at the convention center across the street. We can't say enough good things about this hotel. The room variety is very vast. We usually stay in a room with a kitchen and have stayed in at least six different floor plans-all nice, spacious and very different. The hotel is in an old warehouse and we love the high, huge ceilings and the brick walls many of the rooms have. It adds so much character and that "New Orleans" charm to the rooms.

The decor in the rooms is nice and the kitchen is well stocked. They often give you a few extra snacks and coffee. The rooms are always very clean and very quiet (probably all of the brick). The color scheme is nice but could be a bit updated but it is tasteful. The kitchen and suite rooms are on the front desk side of the hotel and the regular Hampton-type rooms with two beds are on the other side. The bed is very comfortable and plush and the bathrooms are very big. The den has a sofa, coffee table, armoire with TV and end tables. The kitchen has a dining area with chairs. There are also several mirrors in the room (full length and wall).

The breakfast is diverse and wonderful. There is a huge selection like there is at all Hampton Inns. Eggs, waffles, sausage, cereals, pastries, oatmeal, etc. I think there are cookies in the evening also but we get in late so we don't get any!

The front desk staff is excellent. Every time we go and have a special request or upgrade, they never hesitate to accommodate us. They often give us bar coupons upon check-in. Now that we have stayed there so often, they now greet us by name upon our arrival and welcome us back. Christopher has helped us the past few times and he is always funny and courteous. He makes our stay much more pleasurable.

The valet staff is always friendly and quick and also greets us when we come and go.

The hotel has a "courtyard" look by the pool and bar area which is very New Orleans-like.

The location in the warehouse area is an area of town we like a lot. It is reasonably priced, quiet and easy to walk to restaurants, bars, the river and the French Quarter (a bit farther but not a bad walk or you could take the river streetcar). We especially love how we walk out the door and across the street and we are in the convention center.

We have never had a bad stay here. This is always our first choice to stay when we are down in this area of town.

Room Tip: Never hesitate to ask for an upgrade. The kitchen "suites" are the most spacious.

Convenient and easy access, this Hampton Inn & Suites provides easy access to the convention center, great dinner locations, and other sites for work or pleasure. I stayed here for work, but if I had extra days for pleasure, I would not go anywhere else.

Room Tip: go for the main building

This Hampton in the warehouse district is right across from the cruise port for New Orleans. For a unique experience, be sure to book a suite in the side of the hotel that is in an old warehouse building. The standard Hampton rooms are in a new wing. The suites are fabulous and have very high ceilings, four poster beds, living room and kitchen. You are walking distance to some of the best restaurants in the city. Emeril's is about 3 blocks away. Just ask the front desk or go to Open Table to make a reservation for there.

Room Tip: Book in the old warehouse wing

We stayed at this hotel for one night prior to a cruise out of New Orleans in January, 2013.

Our room - in the older warehouse portion of the hotel - was simply great. Very high ceilings, interesting architecture, four poster bed. The staff at the front desk, concierge, and breakfast were all quite helpful. The included breakfast was served in a wide open area with what we thought was better than typical hotel breakfast food. The hotel's location was convenient for walking to the WWII museum, and for taking the $1.25/person trolley to the French Quarter easily (just ask the helpful concierge for a map). The Riverwalk and cruise port are close by as well (5 minutes walk?).

Caveats: Although we took a taxi from the airport, the valet and parking here was fairly expensive if you are driving your own car. Also note for colder weather that the hotel only has an outdoor pool.

We will certainly stay here again, and recommend this Hampton Inn. It was above average compared to our previous experiences with Hampton Inns.

Room Tip: Try to get a room in the old "warehouse" section of the hotel for a unique, interesting, h...

I really liked the Inn from the time I walked in. It has an old-time feel of a historic warehouse, yet it's comfortable and inviting, The staff was wonderful, the room was very comfortable, and it had everything I needed and more. It was close to the river and the Riverwalk. The breakfast was great. I enjoyed walking around and seeing the area. The Convention Center is right across the street, and the sites of Bourbon Street, the French Quarter, Canal Street were all pretty close. There is no restaurant onsite but the desk provided a list of restaurants that delivered and answered questions. I would recommend the Hampton Inn as a great place to stay for the value.

Made arrangement via internet and didn't say we wanted a whirlpool suite and when we got there they put us into a smaller suite. Still has somewhat full kitchen is what we like about this hotel. Not to mention the location to the convention center--across the street entrance D. These high ceiling suites are very quite.

The manager Ms. Charlene was very nice to us and helped us out with the rate per day. We also had a great service guy help with our bags--Eddie Robinson. He was very helpful and quick to smile. We will be staying back at this hotel in November--whirlpool suite of course. Highly recommend this hotel if you are going to the convention center.

Room Tip: if you are going to buy a suite make sure you ask for the whirlpool ones. They are much bigger room...

We chose this hotel first of all because of the location. Very close to the Port of New Orleans cruise terminal. It is right across the street from the convention cemter. Close to all the downtown attractions. walking distance to the River Walk Mall, where you can catch an "old time' streetcar that will take you to the historical French Quarter, the cost is only $1.25 each way. Here you can find Cafe DuMonde, Jonnys Poor Boys, The French Market, Bourbon Street, just to name a few. The hotel is in an old historical brick build, full of character. The lobby is beautiful and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. They offer free shuttle to the cruise terminal. They offer a complimentary hot breakfast buffett in the morning and have free WIFI. We really enjoyed our stay!
