“Lovely hotel on quiet street close to Bourbon St”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

Really liked the Lemoyne - beautiful building, not fancy but clean, comfortable, and updated, with the old world charm, a lovely inner courtyard pool area and nice lobby. The rooms are nice, big enough, good beds. The location is great - about a 2 minute walk to Bourbon Street, bars, restaurants, etc, but far enough away to be peaceful.
Alan, the concierge, is a walking guide book - so helpful, friendly, and accommodating - a treasure! Roy at the front desk was also very helpful and welcoming.
Two negatives, which were probably random glitches but were frustrating: we had a bad breakfast experience in the hotel restaurant - very slow, inattentive service, very slow kitchen, food that came out well after other diners that ordered after us, and something very wrong with one dish. It all took so long we couldn't even wait to re-order or address it, had to run.
And, one evening we came in after the evening out (not that late) and wanted water. Each floor's vending machine was broken and the front desk could not help - no water bottles anywhere in a nice hotel or access to the restaurant to get us some water?
Things happen - we'd still go back. It was mostly a great choice.

Room Tip: Rooms on the inside overlooking courtyard are lovely, though could be noisy if there's a party g...

My only concern before booking this hotel was that it might be a little noisy. It was extremely quiet, and all while being one block off Bourbon St. The location can't be beat. Hotel is small, but that is a plus. Service was all that I could expect. Room very basic, chain type, but clean and well maintained. Bell Person and Front Desk staff attentive, I didn't use the restaurant or parking, so can't comment there. All in all I would most certainly stay here again while in NOLA.

Room Tip: Ask for "some view", my room faced the side of another building that was part of the hotel...

We got to the hotel after twelve hours of travelling so the welcome we received was very much appreciated!

The receptionist was very friendly and offered us a king size bed instead of two queens which I think meant we got a better room too.

I can't pretend that the rooms are sleek and modern but it was clean and roomy, our room was on the top floor and had views over two streets, not inspiring views but it meant the room was light.

There was a safe in e room as well.

The hotel was very close to Bourbon Street but had no noise spilling over from it, we also found that the whole French Quarter was very easy to walk and the Riverside shopping precinct and French Markets were not far, St Louis Cemetary No. 1 was a five minute walk, too.

The concierges and receptionists were friendly and helpful, we didn't have a car so I can't comment on parking or charges.

We had breakfast once, but to be honest it was ok, but not very inspiring.

Spent a girls weekend to celebrate my birthday...the hotel was beautiful and most of the staff was GREAT!! Rene at the front desk was very sweet, the Valets were fun and VERY helpful! Biggest disappointment was the bartender on Saturday, some of us met there around 6 to wait for the others and 30 minutes went buy and no bartender ever showed up it was a ghost town!! We went back on Sunday afternoon and we had a blast with Darrell! He was AWESOME- we will visit again next year and hopefully Darrell is there again!!

This hotel was a very good place to stay, just far enough from Bourbon Street. The balcony over looking Dauphine is very nice, gives you an outdoor living space. The beds were comfortable like the newer Holiday Inn property's, but I would say the decor in our room was the standard hotel and not modern. The hotel is very clean, which given on what goes on nearby is fantastic. The pool / courtyard area is a great place to relax with some very nice accommodations. The only issue I had was with noise, the street noise on the second floor above street level was pretty intense, especially with a motorcycle or larger truck. The breakfast was very good, but restaurant style. Two people could easily split one meal. I would stay here again.

For an older building, this place is in great shape - rooms are clean and staff are helpful and friendly. Only negative was the Concierge Alan....one day he told us to catch a green streetcar...we waited for it until it was obvious it was not coming and we were late for our walking tour. Our tour guide told us that the green streetcar on the path we were taking had not been operating "for months" - if it has been out for months, that is something the HI staff should know. Same guy, put us in a cab heading for the airport...only problem is that we were not going to the airport. If you are getting a guest a cab, there is not too much to know besides "where are they going". These were just minor negatives...overall a great experience at the hotel.

The only issue I had with this hotel was the air conditioner did not get as cool as I normally like it. They did send some one to look at the air conditioner he thougth fixed it then it started leaking so he had to turn the setting back down. The location to the French Quarter was GREAT. The staff were friendly and were always willing to help. The room was huge with 2 double beds. My balcony over looked Dauphine street and one morning a car did go by with its music up very load but you have that every where.
