Great hotel in a perfect location. Located only a block away from bourbon st, hotel has spacious rooms, great service and good food. Also has a nice pool area by the gym.. Highly recommend staying here when visiting new orleans.

As most others have noted, this a very nice hotel. We don’t stay at a lot of Ritz Carltons, opting more for upscale boutique hotels, but this hotel has a “boutique” feel to it but yet with more or the amenities of a larger hotel. If you want to be near the F Q then really, you can’t beat this place. One block off the craziness of B. Street is the peace and tranquility of this hotel-in other words a great location. The rooms are typical old school Ritz colors and furnishings so no surprises there-traditional décor, well-appointed with comfy beds and very nice linens. Rooms are not huge but considering the age of the building and the prime location, they are really ok. They are well laid out and we never felt cramped. The shower worked beautifully, something you can’t always count on in these older buildings.

Like all Ritz’s, the staff were universally fabulous including and perhaps especially the housekeeping staff who regularly went out of their way to help, offering bottled water if we passed them in the hall, promptly and courteously bringing extra supples to the room, etc, etc. A-plus for the housekeeping staff.

Other facilities-There is a beautiful outdoor patio/courtyard which serves as a great place for an evening cocktail or morning coffee. The bar/lounge is nice with some great Jazz bands on a regular basis. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but heard many compliments about it. The gym/workout facility is well appointed with modern and well maintained cardio and weight machines-it is a bit cramped but overall not bad for a hotel gym.

Only two complaints, hopefully for the management, if they read this. All of the public areas are heavily and overbearingly sprayed with Fabreeze or something similar-it hits you like a ton of obnoxious bricks every time you enter the lobby-there has to be a better scent or smell-or how about none at all, considering that a lot of people are allergic to these kinds of products. The other is that the lobby temperature is seriously bitter cold-not cool, but cold and we are from Minnesota so we know cold. There is just no reason for this.

But other than these two complaints, it is a great hotel and I would definitely stay there again on my next visit to NOLA.

This is a three for a Ritz, but I judge it equal to every one else. First, I don't get upgraded at Ritz Carlton, as I only stay three or four times a year at Ritz Hotels. That said sometimes I will pay for Club, but in a town like New Orleans, where great food is everywhere, Club is not worth it, as I did not plan to spend anytime in the hotel. Here is my issue, the staff was awesome and in a city with questionable customer service, that was a plus. The property is nice and the location is perfect, but the rooms were ehhhhh. The Club level is called Maison Orleans and the lounge is great (stayed there before), but for an additional $150-200 a night, it was not worth the difference. The normal rooms though are by no means Ritz Carlton. They are old and dated and very small. The hallway leading up to your room is the same, old, dated and very small. The amenities are nice, but for the money, I would probably stay at the connected Courtyard by Marriott (VERY NICE) and just use the amenities at the Ritz (if needed). If you like the Ritz and have to have the Ritz, go for it, if you just want the location, stay next door.

Room Tip: Third Floor is the most convenient, but make sure they give you a room facing Canal Street.

Have stayed here many times in both the club level and regular king rooms. The valets know our cars when we pull up. I love the perfumey smell when you enter the concierge level and the beautiful flower arrangements. The staff is always wonderful and the rooms are always so nicely appointed. I love the Davenport Lounge. You must grab a drink there and order a Bloody Mary, extra beans! Location is rather central.

From the moment you walk through the door until even after we departed the service at this hotel is just fabulous! Time after time we were rewarded with smiles, recognized by name and afforded the most helpful and warmest treatment. Even after we left to move to another hotel because the Ritz was fully booked for our last night in New Orleans, the New York Times was delivered to our new room elsewhere. Special commendation to the concierge, who had great suggestions. Our room was incredibly comfortable, with a beautiful marble bathroom. Two small negatives: wifi should be free and entertainment more than weekends.

We spent three nights at the hotel and were awed by the service. Upon arrival we decided to upgrade to the club floor for an additional fee. The facilities includes three lounge rooms which provided a wonderful buffet breakfast, lunch, beverages all day and an evening offering of buffet food which could serve as a light dinner. The staff made a point of learning our names upon arrival and provided extremely friendly, courteous and attentive service. After two days of their observing my dads drinking habits, he was awed when before he finished his statement to us that he thought he would have another scotch, he was served one.

The rooms are lovely, the location ideal, and the concierge service extremely helpful. A wonderful experience!

I planned a Bachelor Party for my best bro here and could not have been happier. Whenever we get together with friends, we still talk about how epic the trip was -- mainly on account of our stay at the Ritz. The Ritz NOLA is central to everything -- Bourbon Street, Harrah's, great eats and the French Quarter in general. The rooms were beautiful, and we spent the extra dough to add the "Club Level" to our stay. The "Club Level" really made the trip -- the food was copious and delicious, the drinks were complimentary and free-flowing, and the service was insanely great. We asked one of the concierges if we could have some extra bananas, and found a basket of them sent to our rooms later that night. I've never had service like this -- anywhere -- and I've stayed at Ritz-Carltons in New York, Ireland, and Vegas.

Five guys on a bachelor party is probably not the key demographic for the Ritz-Carlton (even though we are all young professionals). We definitely looked a little out of place, and while some places might act snooty, the staff here went out of their way to make our stay amazingly enjoyable -- especially Pim. Because we had such a good time, we're going to plan an annual couples trip here with all our wives.

Thank you Ritz-Carlton, for helping us send or buddy into married life and for giving us an experience none of us will ever forget.
