“Great Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2012

We had a great 4 day weekend at this hotel. I agree with previous reviewers that this hotel is an oasis in the city. It is quiet, secure and close enough to the action yet far enough away. We stayed in a club level room and we cannot say enough good things about the club level. It is worth every penny for the complimentary drinks and food. Wine, beer and liquor are available at no cost and there is a good variety. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, appetizers and desserts were all delicious and varied from day to day. The club level room was very spacious and the bathroom was especially nice with a separate toilet room, walk in shower and soaking tub. The spa although nice is not quite a 5 star experience. There was no European bath style plunge pools as one might expect from this type of property. There was also no comfortable chaise lounges or furniture to relax in while waiting for your treatment (only semi-comfortable wing chairs). In my opinion there is no other place to stay in New Orleans. We had some minor problems with check in and amenities but they were all taken care of promptly. Remember, if something isn't meeting your expectations, give them a chance to fix it!

Room Tip: Club level is worth the upgrade.

This was a great hotel for a stay in New Orleans. It was just close enough to enjoy the French Quarter, but far enough away where we weren't bothered by the noise late at night. The staff were beyond hospitable, and the beds were heavenly. The only issue we had was that the rooms weren't cleaned until quite late in the day, almost up until 5pm.
I would definitely stay at this hotel again should I find myself in New Orleans on another visit.

Room Tip: The hallways stretch off in all directions, so choosing a room overlooking Canal Street is usually t...

We arrived at the Ritz on Friday August 31st. Flew in from Los Angeles looking to have a fun filled bachelorette weekend in NOLA. The front desk was very friendly, helpful and accommodating. We had 2 in our party checking into separate rooms and Ricky at reception got us the rooms at the end of the hall on the 6th floor across from one another. The great thing about the 2 end rooms was that you could close a door that led to the hallway and make both rooms across from each other a set of adjoining rooms.

One room faced Canal Street and had a great view. The other room did not have a view and unfortunately had some water damage right near the corner window. The carpet was soaked through in about a 5x5 foot section. From what we could see it appears as if the rain from the hurricane got into the room via the window sill. The window facing the back of the hotel is right at roof level for the lower floors. We called the front desk twice and they failed to send someone up to look into it until one of our party contacted them a 3rd time. It was of course Southern Decadence weekend and the whole hotel was very busy because of all the folks checking in, but still, a follow up call after an hour would've been nice. The hotel offered us half off of one night and then a different room for the following evening and a bottle of champagne.

The next day we got a call from the front desk regarding being moved into a different room. The floor was still wet in one corner of the room but it didn't smell bad and could be avoided for the most part. And since we had our adjoining neighbor's room with a view to hang out in, we decided to stay in the room for the rest of our stay in NOLA. The hotel did not give us break on the price of the room for the additional days, which kinda sucks but overall our stay was very nice. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We didn't get to check out the other amenities such as the restaurant, spa or the gym so I can't speak to how they are. I would totally recommend the place for its location and the service. And I'm sure that had it not been for the hurricane our room would have been perfect.

Room Tip: Try to get a corner room facing Canal Street. The view is great.

We stayed at the Ritz for a bachelorette party. We found the price of the hotel to be cheaper than a lot of other hotels in the area so we thought, why not stay here?! Check in took a little while but we had a group of 12 so that's to be expected. Also, in one of the rooms we had two queen beds, in another room we had two double beds and the final room looked like it had beds that were smaller than a double, but larger than a twin. We also had to switch to a different room because when we walked into it, it was still dirty. Beer cans were everywhere and the beds hadn't been made. But they switched us to a room on a different floor. But in their defense, we flew in the Friday after Isaac hit so I know they were having staffing issues and whatnot. The hallway smelled like a babies diaper the first night but I didn't really smell it after that. Overall, it was a nice hotel at a perfect location.

I surprised my wife for her birthday and took her on an overnight trip to New Orleans for some good meals. I booked the Ritz on points from grueling business trips, which it's always nice to cash them in on something special. We arrived early, about 11 am, and they were very accommodating. They called me about 30 minutes later to let us know they had a room for us.

Everything at the Ritz is everything that I expected of the Ritz, posh and polite with excellent service. They were excellent hosts to our overnight trip and I apologize to our neighbors that had to endure our night away from the kids :-)

We had plans to travel to NOLA the Thursday after Issac but we had to push the trip back a couple of days for obvious reasons. The staff at the Ritz were awesome b/c we had to change dates for our arrival. The hotel was in spectacular condition without any damage that we could see and more importantly the staff at the Ritz was TOP NOTCH as usual. This is a fabulous hotel, right in the heart of a FABULOUS city. The band that they have onsite in the cocktail lounge was awesome and the service in all areas of the hotel was top-notch. The people of NOLA are awesome people & they continually roll with the punches. Although most of the residents were STILL without power after 4 days they were still upbeat and didn't complain. Even though I we know that their home situations were tough the staff at the Ritz was phenomenal as usual.

$300.00/night but this was a 3 day holiday weekend and it was a family suite. Great courtesy and quick reception. Great room, nice bar and Restaurant. Valet parking was quick, however for $45.00 shouldn't they wash the car as well? Would recomend staying here.
