“Best B&B I've ever visited!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 8, 2013

Stayed for 4 days during Superbowl weekend along with 3 other friends in 4 different cottages.
Vincent and Lola are excellent hosts and the breakfast is top notch!! They do anything to make you feel comfortable and at home.
We were welcomed with wine, beer and delicious local treats. The rooms are really nice and spacious and the style suits the French Quarter.
To our surprise, the day we left, we had a farewell gift of champagne and a King Cake. I highly recommend this place! -just be aware that the showers are very nice, clean, like new- but quite small ;)

Room Tip: I stayed at the Mayfield. I recommend it to couples.

My review is a bit late but my husband and I stayed here for 2 nights right after Christmas. This was our second time at the Jazz Quarters and I think we enjoyed it even more than our first stay. Lola and Vincent were amazing hosts and we felt like we were visiting with old friends. They gave great recommendations for exploring the city and breakfast was delicious! We stayed in the Mayfield suite and it was very nice and spacious, and CLEAN :) Once again we loved everything about our stay here and cannot wait to come back!!

As first time visitors to the Big Easy we couldn't have chosen a better place to stay. The owners took the time to help us with recommendations on what to do, and most important, where to eat and drink. But I have to say that the best we had was the breakfast at the Inn, couldn't hardly wait for the morning to come. We love to go back anytime!

Many thanks, USAFantast, for you praise of the breakfasts.

In New Orleans, bad food truly is anathema, so we try hard to get folks off to a good start in the morning.

Kind regards,

Lola and Vincent

Unbelievable! We arrived in The Big Easy after dark, a harrowing, rainsoaked drive from Lafayette, attempting to navigate the unfamiliar, narrow streets of the French Quarter. We approached what we hoped was the correct address, only to see a smiling couple under an umbrella waving at us. This was our introduction to the Jazz Quarters and to Vincent and Lola, our on-site innkeepers, cooks, historians, day planners, restaurant guides and so much more. They were there whenever we needed them and invisible when we didn't. Helpful in the extreme, they provided answers to almost all of our questions and guidance that helped shape each day's activities in spite of the rain that persisted for the entire time we visited New Orleans.

This beautiful, hidden, bed and breakfast is the antithesis of a motel/hotel with identical, impersonal cells. At J.Q., each room is unique in its layout and furnishings, filled with treasures and antiques along with the contemporary amenities (individual room temperature controls, beautifully outfitted bathrooms, bathrobes and flatscreen TVs, gourmet breakfasts etc.) that make a visit both pleasurable and memorable.

In short, we can't imagine visiting New Orleans without staying in this warm, wonderful environment.

My wife and I went to NOLA for the first time this past weekend, staying four nights at the jazz quarters. The Jazz Quarters is extremely well situated; steps away from the start of the french quarter. However, in a B & B it's the innkeepers who make it special, and Vincent and Lola are amazing! Vincent welcomed us to the Jazz Quarters with a "getting started guide" and a glass of wine. We brought a guidebook, but you don't need one -- every one of the places we'd picked out from the guidebook to see / eat was on Vincent and Lola's NOLA orientation map, plus a few more besides. Our room (Armstrong) was very spacious and well appointed. The only problem was that the shower had no curtain so the bathroom floor would get wet. The bathroom has a massive bathtub (room for two!) which is lovely. Breakfasts were extremely tasty and rich -- love the cous cous starter! Finally, the reason for the trip was for my wife and my birthday (it's on the same day); I mentioned to Vincent at check-in that it was our birthday the next day and the next morning for breakfast the place was decked out with "Happy birthday" signs. So thoughtful! We hope to return to NOLA in the coming years, and when we do we will definitely try to book in at the Jazz Quarters.

Room Tip: Armstrong is a lovely suite, but right next to the pedestrian entrance door from the street, which c...

Stayed here with my family in January 2013.
Originally we booked the 2 bedroom place after reading all the wonderful trip advisor reviews.
We arrived in the pouring rain and Lola was there to greet us and told us that we could have the music hall (4 bedrooms) for no extra charge because she thought itd be more comfortable. Amazing service.
The room was magnificent! It was warm and beautifully decorated with all kinds of eclectic items.
The bathrooms were very modern and pretty.
Breakfast service was outstanding! My sister has a lot of food intolerances and Lola and Vincent made sure there was always an alternative choice for her (gluten free toast and waffles, omelette etc). Also the best French toast and the best waffles I've ever had were from their kitchen.
You can't beat their location if you want to be near the French quarter. It's a lovely short stroll into it and Louis Armstrong park across the road is also a nice place to walk through.
We were all very sad to have to leave this place and wouldn't even look at anywhere else to stay if we returned to New Orleans

I don't even know how to begin to thank our innkeepers for our wonderful stay at the NO Jazz Quarters. From the moment we arrived until we left, Vincent and Lola were the most accommodating, gracious hosts we've ever had the pleasure to meet. They were REALLY concerned that we ate well in New Orleans and provided lots of info about local restaurants, not the heavily trafficked places on Bourbon St. (Don't miss the 3 Muses Cafe, by the way -- great food, service, and jazz music. Just ask Lola.) But we started each day with breakfast prepared by the innkeepers; the breakfasts were great, but the company made them even better. I could've spent the entire day discussing books with Vincent. In fact, one of my favorite things about this party city was hanging out with Vincent and Lola at breakfast every day! Our room was great -- we stayed in the Connick, which is 2 bedrooms separated by a shared bath. LOADS of room for my son and me, and the decor is comfortable but uncluttered. The location of the inn is nice -- not in the middle of everything, but close enough. I wouldn't have wanted to stay in the noisy center of the French Quarter. I wasn't worried about walking around at night -- like any big city, you have to be on your toes but certainly nothing extraordinary here. I can't recommend this B&B enough. Vincent and Lola are like those cool friends you always wished you had. And if you stay at the NO Jazz Quarters, you can have them! (At least for a few days, anyway.)

Hi MJ and R,

We, too, enjoyed your company and the breakfast conversations. I took your advice and started reading 'A Hundred Years of Solitude" and it is a spectacular read indeed.

Perhaps if you two can make it back here some day, we can continue our discussion of this marvelous book and others,

Kind regards,

Vincent
