“Great location & the Bell/Concierge staff is outstanding”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2013

Stayed here for a long weekend, brought my Mum to New Orleans for a big birthday. The Doubletree is in a great spot, easy to walk to everything. Some of the other reviewers mention it being a little tired and yes, it could use a refresh but the rates are great and the staff is super friendly. Alan in particular, but all of the bell staff/ concierge staff- its one in the same here, are super friendly, ready to give good recommendations. They are not just pitching the tourist spots but the local spots too. They were always there with a smile for us when we were coming and going. The hotel was super full too so it was nice to still be acknowledged and not feel lost in the crowd.

Stayed here during a vacation stop, everyone, from the Valet's to the front desk were more than helpful, especially Seth, who not only checked us in but also gave us GREAT advice where to eat, tours to take, shopping, never too busy to assist with whatever we needed!! Also a great location to French Quarter and Bourbon St. A must stay if your in NOLA

The location is very good at the foot of Canal Street. I was here some 20 years ago and it was very good, but I do not like it has been remodeled since then.I changed rooms twice and both rooms (10th floor and 15th) had worn furnishings and carpet! The hallway carpet was also worn and dirty looking. The programed buttons on both room phones(valet/front desk) did not work and reported this to front desk with no answer why. All of the staff are pleasant but are working with what htey have.
I will not stay there again until it is updated! Ot is far below what I have come to expect from a Double-tree property.

The location of this hotel is fantastic!! It's right on the main street to catch a trolley and not terribly far away if you decide to walk down to the french quarter. We had to drive around the block (which takes quite awhile b/c of all the one way streets) about 3 times until we found the entrance to the hotel. The valet is basically mandantory and a hefty fee at that but the valet guys are really nice! Upon arrival, we were greeted by a older gentleman that called us "friend" every sentence and bombarded us expecting to help and obviously looking for a tip. The front desk staff were really nice and welcoming. I had 2 rooms reserved. The 2 double room was soo crowded; very close quarters. The king room on the other hand was really big! We LOVED it!! They did put on hold on my debit card when we checked in with a different card which was no good but not done intentionally. Over all, the hotel is nice and worth the money for the location but could use some remodeling. It was perfect for a weekend out though and will definitely stay here again!

Room Tip: The 2 double rooms are WAY small. Go for a King!!! or 2 Queens!

Very good location. Easy walk to great shopping and Bourbon St. They gave us yummy cookies at check in and the room was very nice. We were on the balcony with the pool and it was nice to walk out and look out over the street. The valet parking attendants were very helpful, even though we didn't park with them. They got us a free van to the New Orleans port. The staff was very helpful and polite. Would recommend staying here.

I would definitely stay at the Doubletree New Orleans if you are looking for a hotel close to the action but far enough you can sleep/stay focused on business. I would probably skip the Wow cafe though. There are many outstanding restaurants in the area, but this is not one.

Stayed here Nov 7-9, 2013 and needed a room with 2 beds. The room was a bit small with the 2 beds but served the purpose for us without seeming too crowded. The TV was HUGE & nice when we did actually stay in the room to watch TV. Staff was very friendly and helpful. the location was close enough to the French Quarter so that we didn't need a taxi to get there (could be a bit of a walk for those that cannot walk any distance). There was a pool on an upper floor that looked nice (but we didn't use it). Not sure about the parking as we didn't drive or have a rental. Their little cafe, coffee shop and bar seemed nice and the prices were fairly good in the cafe/buffet and the food we had for breakfast was great! We were on the 9th floor and didn't hear any traffic noise. There were a few noisy guests out in the hallway one night pretty late (there is a sign posted for guests to keep it quiet though) and once they got into their room we didn't hear anything. Beds are fairly comfortable (although a bit too firm for my own personal taste, but still slept good). I would definitely highly consider this hotel if back in the area.
