Stayed here because it was the only room under $1000 I could find for Super Bowl. I was extremely pleasantly surprised by the exceptionally nice and professional staff and the clean rooms. If you need an affordable room in New Orleans just a $20 cab ride from the French Quarter, this is a great place.

just wanted to let everyone know what a really good place this is. while it is out of the way, the hospitality that ken and the staff there showed us was awesome, from the surprise of a superbowl weekend gift bag to the great breakfast and clean rooms (thanks to miss cathy smith)
it turned into a very enjoyable and memorable stay. the small inconvienence of being outside the city was well offset by the staffs cheerfulness and attention to our needs. thanks again ken and cathy

We booked this hotel as a pre-cruise stay because they allow you to park for free while you are away on your sailing. We were with a large family group (22 of us in all) and due to the different economic statuses, I chose this hotel to respect those that couldn't afford the more upscale hotels in the French Quarter. I have to be completely honest and say that I was a little nervous. Pulling in to the parking lot, it is located directly next door to a large abandoned hotel that has got to be considered condemned. It needs to be torn down. But after raising eye brows at the location, we walked in and were immediately greeted by a great lobby and a wonderful desk staff.

I bluntly asked the desk clerk if this area was safe and would my car be secure for the trip, and she very politely told me yes and eased my concerns by pointing out the security gates, the guard shack, and the cameras. I went with my gut and checked us in. What a find! It is a CUTE little hotel! The breezeways had nice fountains, the pool was in good shape, and our room was clean. It IS the Super 8, so it isn't luxury - but we were all very pleased with our stay. The breakfast was fine (typical continental breakfast with the waffle makers) and our cars were all fine when we came back from our cruise.

Honestly, I would consider staying here again if I ever visit New Orleans again! It's only 5 minutes to the French Quarter, and the price can't be beat!

I want to start with saying what awesome, friendly and personable front staff this place has! EVERY time we entered the hotel during our 3 night stay, we were greeted warmly.
This place is average, but clean. The breakfast is your average fare (waffles, pastries, cereal, yogurt, juices).
Bed was comfortable, but had the thinnest worn sheets I've ever seen.
The area is a bit less than desirable and some fairly seedy people were walking the streets. There isn't anything to do within walking distance, so no need to walk in this neighborhood. We felt completely safe at all times, inside and while at car and on property.
If you want to save money, I do recommend staying here. It is right on highway and you can easily get around town.
Walls are thin and was noisy inside at all crazy hours. Signs need to be posted about some quiet hours!
We did not use any facilities while here, so I cannot rate those.

While the outside and hallways of this hotel certainly embody the New Orleans French Quarter style and charm, this particular location is in need of upgrading.

The decor of our room and the TV were certainly dated and the abandoned building (possibly another hotel) next door does help with the industrial look of the surrounding area.

I will say our bed was comfortable, the lobby was inviting, the front staff very polite, and the price was right for a short drive into the heart of New Orleans. If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter, drive out here for the night. If you want something where the family can enjoy and walk around the area, keep looking.
