Booked a "deluxe" room and was unknowingly put into a regular sized room. After the first night, We Inquired about a possible upgrade and was informed we could pay $20 extra for the deluxe room (that we had already reserved and were already paying the deluxe room rate). After pointing this out, they would not refund the difference from the first night, and only offered to change the room. Did not appreciate the dishonesty here, or the total lack of sincerity in their apologies. They made a truly feeble attempt to fix the situation (and no, I don't want a free appetizer for my troubles at your one-step-above-Bourbon street-vendor-food restaurant). The manager on duty told us the reservation stated it was only "based on availability," which I immediately pointed out that it did not say that ANYWHERE on the reservation. He also said it would be "a few minutes" to get our new room, and that they were cleaning it "now." Turned out when we called 20 minutes later, that it would be another 45 minutes, This was a huge hassle and disrupted our plans for the day, as we had to wait in order to move our stuff - time we should have spent in the quarter. They are in the midst of trying to convert a very mediocre Holiday Inn location into a Wyndham brand hotel and there are clear growing pains in the process. The rooms are clean, but the walls are thin, and if you're anywhere near the elevators, you will hear them all night. Ultimately, I probably would have been happy with them had they put any real effort forward to make the situation right, but that was not afforded to our group. Will absolutely look elsewhere for future stays in the quarter, and will not be considering Wyndham for any future business travel, either.

I'm sorry to hear about the service you received and the lackluster response you received to your issue. I wish it had been handled better. Growing paints or not, it should have been handled better. Thank you for the feedback and it is something that we will be monitoring in the future. I invite you stay with Wyndham again and I hope that we can do more than just make up for the problems you encountered.
