“You gotta go to New Orleans”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2009

My husband & I have had New Orleans on our bucket list of places to visit for years. Our trip in October 2005 was obviously cancelled for reasons beyond our control. We exchanged our timeshare through RCI for this unit and it was unbelievable. The unit itself was very spacious with huge ceilings making it look even bigger. It had a fridge and microwave but no stove/oven but we didn't miss it as there are so many wonderful places to eat in New Orleans. There was a small and I mean small pool (spa) but we never even had the chance to use it or the gym which looked very well equipped. The unit is so close to Bourbon Street yet far enough away from the madness that we were never bothered by any noise at night.
The staff were wonderful, helpful and so friendly.
If you have any reservations about going to New Orleans, don't. This is an amazing city, full of life and Bourbon Street is beyond description!

Great location, just 2 blocks from the French Quarter. Lots of restaurants close by, from McDonalds to fancy restaurants. Nice size rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. We stayed on the 7th floor and requested a room with a river view. It is great fun to watch the boats on the river. We saw the Carnival Cruise ship going down the river from our room. At night you can still see the boats with their lights. The rooms from the 4th floor and down are the ones that have stoves but we didn't miss a stove at all. There are too many restaurants in New Orleans for you to eat in your room!

We stayed at La Belle Maison to celebrate my daughter's 21st birthday. We traveled with a large group of family members. We are time share owners in the Wyndham family so we had a total of 4 rooms. All of the rooms were very nice and very clean. 3 of the rooms were 2 bedrooms and each had a different set up, which was a nice. I was a little worried that we would be too far from the french quarter but actually it wasn't. We didn't have to worry about a lot of the noise that you get when you stay in the French Quarter. We walked most of the time but we did buy a 3 day pass for the transit system that included the street cars and buses. We were only 1 block from the Canal St. street car and a block and a half to the river street line. This made it very convienent and saved us time when we were trying to get somewhere in a hurry. The only disappointment that I had is that there wasn't more of a courtyard to sit in and the pool wasn't a little bigger. The Avenue Plaza Wyndham had a much better courtyard, but this one is closer to the French Quarter. All in all we had a great time and Jerome, the parking attendant/bellman was very nice and full of great information. He won't steer you wrong.

Stayed here with some girlfriends for a bachelorette gathering. Had a wonderful experience. The front desk staff, concierge, and even the baggage handlers were very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable, as we asked them a million questions. The rooms are clean, cozy and have a wonderful, calming color scheme. Within walking distance of the French Quarter and Magazine mile. Pool was under renovation, so we were given permission to use their sister hotel's facilities a couple blocks away. Great experience. Would definitely stay again.

This hotel is most unusual in that it is aconverted printing factory. Our first impressions were nto good as our unit was not available and were we told someone would call when it was available. They did not call and we tried again. They switched us to another unit. Then the bellman apparently got lost with our bags and we finally ahd to call to find our luggage. The units are very nicely furnished with very high ceilings (maybe 20 feet) and have seeveral brick walls fromt he original building design but very was poorly designed. The unit itself was very large but most of the unit is wasted space in the middle of the room.

The kitchen is a mini one wall affair even though there was enough room for a full kitchen. The laundry is on the 6th floor even though there was a water hookup and place for the units in the closet int he dining room. We kept hearing this is part of Wynham's Urban collection so it is not the same as a normal timeshare. That can partially be true but doe snot excuse very poor design and wasting space. The other downside the unithas no exterior windows. We were told very few units have windows.

An unusual element ont he 2nd floor where we were was a large fountain and atrium outside of our unit (see picture). This is the courtyard and produces the light into the unit to replace the no exterior windows.

There is a very small outdoor pool with a fountain in a romantci setting and a very small hot tub/jacuzzi.

So if you are looking for a large upscale furnished timeshare unti just off the French Quarter (2 -3 blocks) this is your location. It is unusual but serves the purpose. It is right at the Magazine bus line and 3 blocks from the St Charles garden district trolley.

Got droped off by the shuttle service and could not believe how small the outside looked at first. People in the shuttle thought it was an upscale apartment complex.
Upon entering the hotel looked very nice and clean. My family and I had a one bedroom which really had no view but did have big windows for much needed light. The room itself was beautiful and very clean since the resort still new. The Wading pool was small and looked for like a big fountain than pool but i still would of went in it if it was warmer out. 2nd floor had a nice coffee station if you dont feel like making it in your room. Overall service of staff was exceptional! Concierge was very nice and informational.
Location of the place is awesome. couple blocks from anything and everything ( bourbon, street cars, Harrah's casino, some of the best restaurants in the country) Dont let anyone try to scare you and say dont go to New Orleans because of Katrina. The City was clean and locals were chill. Sometimes at night if you walk on a side street it can be a little dangerous but if you stay on bourbon and the main roads its all good.
Only problem is the main Sales rep there. Word of advice stay away as far as away as you can. he was a total BS artist. All his stories were pretty much lies
Overall i give wyndham props for this resort, a lot of wyndhams in recent heres have gone downhill but this one is and should be a great place to go for years to come

We, exchanged for a one bedroom at the WLBM from April 02 to April 17/09. One has to marvel at the construction of this complex, ( requiring the conversion of 5 separate 6-story buildings into one timeshare )
The staff were very pleasant, check in was fast, we had a one bedroom unit on the 9Th floor # 915. I suggest staying on the higher floors, as the view is not as restricted as the lower floors, we could watch the freighters, cruise ships etc. on the Mississippi river.
Large bright sitting area with couch and dinette table and chairs. Kitchen had all new appliances with all the amenities ( didn't have a stove, but we didn't require one ) Suite was very quite. Separate bedroom with french doors, Superb King-size bed very comfortable, excellent lighting, AC, and large fans, 3 blocks to Bourbon street, Harrah's Casino was only blocks away.
If you wanted someone to clean your room there was a charge of $89.00, as room service was not supplied unless you are an owner there. Cozy location on the second floor and coffee was supplied. Pool and jacuzzi area is compact with limited seating, and the pool is shallow and tiny
The "drive-thu" garage just opened when we were there, all newly decorated! Paintings hanging on the walls, hanging plants and shrubs
