“A wonderful and whimsical place to stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2010

This is a great little B&B that is right in the heart of the Garden District. It's a great place to stay if you want to get away from the super touristy areas, but you are still very close to the street car, with the French Quarter is only a 15 min ride. Nancy, Guy and Gracie were wonderful hosts. Breakfasts were fun as you had the opportunity to meet other guests and have a nice home-cooked meal. The rates are very reasonable for the experience you get. I've stayed at the major hotel chains in New Orleans before and nothing beats the experience of a B&B like Sully's!

This was a sisters get away trip. I had never stayed in a Bed and Breakfast before and was kind of apprehensive. I decided to book it and give it a try. My two sisters and I really enjoyed our two day stay. The Sully Mansion was beautifully furnished. I felt like I was staying with relatives. Guy and Nancy was very informative of places to go. Would recommend it to others and I would love to return someday. Gracie made it feel more like home.

This B & B is the essence of the Garden District. Rooms are huge, elegant in a well-kept Garden district mansion. Nancy and Guy are great hosts and very knowledgeable about New Orleans. The location is great, in the middle of the Garden District and a short drive or street car trip to downtown, the French Quarter or Tulane.

This was our second stay at the Sulley and in future trips I would stay there again. Thier location in the Garden Distict is beautiful and the house is lovely. They are right around the corner from a street car stop, there is a coffee shop one house away, it is the perfect place to end your day after the french quarter!

I guess you could say we enjoy the Sully Mansion Bed and Breakfast as this was one of our numerous visits to this fine establishment. The proprietors, Nancy and Guy are very accommodating and offer one of the most convenient locations to stay in the Garden District. We have stayed in the Prytania, Bourbon and St. Charles Suite, however, our choice is the St. Charles as it offers direct access to the relaxing porch which is a great place for enjoying a cup of coffee, a glass of wine or just to sit and watch the passers-by. Just minutes away from Magazine Street allows you easy access to great shopping and dining without the hassle of driving your car.

My daugter and I went to visit the campus of Tulane University and decided on staying at Sully Mansion. I cannot say enough nice things about the stay. The owners, Nancy & Guy make you feel welcome immediately and if You're a dog lover, their dog Gracie welcomes you as well. (If you're not a dog lover....Gracie has excellent manners and will not bother you.)

We stayed in The Royal Room which being an old New Orleanean home had space, space, and SPACE. The beds were very comfortable, there was all the ammenites found in a nice hotel plus EVERY room is decorated with elegance and warmth. If you have any questions at all, Nancy has the answers and can point you in any direction of New Orleans you'd like to know about. She even has passes for the Bus and Street Car lines you can purchase there. When a place offers Contenintal Breakfast you think, "some kind of bread & coffee." NOT at Sully Mansion. Yogart parfaits ( Greek Yogart), homemade peach cobbler, fruit, English Muffins, Bagels, cereal, Bannana Bread, hard boiled eggs, both Apple and Orange juice, and I'm sure I've forgotten something. It's all served with beautiful china in the dinning room. This is in addition to the Coffee waiting for you before you have breakfast. Unfortunately we were'nt there for the Sunday Breakfast I read so much about, which I can now believe the great reviews about Nancy's French Toast.

Last....LOCATION, LOCATION....LOCATION!!! I don't think we could have been any better located than at Sully Mansion. It's a few blocks from the Street Car & St. Charles, about 4 blocks from Magazine St. with shopping & restaurants. The Street Car can take you to The French Quarter but once you hang around New Orleans "Uptown" you'll want to stay there and explore to know the real New Orleans.

Thank you Guy and Nancy for a lovely night in your beautiful Bed and Breakfast. Everything was great except for the bed which was harder than what is normal fo me. I particularly enjoyed breakfast and wonderful conversation Sunday morning.
