“Welcoming and restful haven in NOLA”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2013

We had a wonderfully restful stay at Sully Mansion. We arrived tired and in need of R & R and got precisely that. Nancy and Guy were very hospitable, friendly and full of good information about things to see and place to eat or hear live music. We were there for my 30th birthday, and our first morning, we came down to the dining room to find a Happy Birthday tablecloth that Nancy had laid out in my honor. Breakfast was delicious -- especially the homemade biscuits! Certain details made Sully a good haven within New Orleans: the bed was extremely comfortable and sheets were soft. The garden around the house is lush, the porch spacious and furnished with chairs, coffee table and ceiling fan -- all contributing to how very conducive Sully Mansion is to great rest and relaxation. Thank you, Nancy and Guy!

This is our first stay at the Sully B&B, but it won't be our last. From location to the mansion itself (absolutely beautiful, appointed with great art and history, warm and welcoming), we couldn't have picked a better place to rest our heads at night. And in the morning, REAL scrumptious breakfasts and wonderful conversation with our hosts Nancy and Guy. Maybe my favorite of all was Gracie the resident dog - affectionate yet not a jumper/absolutely well-behaved. We also were treated to an intimate dining experience with Chef Gason who created a one-of-a-kind private dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. The Chef is as humble and sweet as he is talented. We so wanted to cancel other dinner reservations to have him cook for us again. YUMMY. I highly recommend Sully's B&B. GREAT vacation - thank you!

Room Tip: I really don't think you can go wrong, regardless of room. Just be aware that rooms may have a d...

This B&B was my wife's and I first stay at a B&B; it was a wonderful experience and fit exactly what we were looking to get out of our vacation. The hosts Guy and Nancy were good hosts and provided a wonderful experience for my wife and I. The weekday continental breakfast was wonderful with the weekend breakfast being even better. The house was well maintained with many nice details throughout. There was plenty of outdoor space to relax and unwind and strike up conversations with the other guests. We stayed in the smallest room, The Desire, which was perfect for our needs. The room was just big enough to walk around the bed with a closet and a connected private bathroom. The bathroom was clean and in good condition. We saw several other rooms and would recommend every single room to stay in. This B&B is in a quiet and well maintained historic district of New Orleans. Plenty of nice homes and a cemetery a block away to explore. The St Charles Ave is one block north with quick and simple access to the trolley and bus service. There are many restaurants, stores and bars along St Charles Ave and 4 blocks south on Magazine St to enjoy. My wife and I walked around at night to and from Magazine St and never felt unsafe. This B&B was a wonderful place to stay at and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit New Orleans.

Room Tip: "The Desire" is perfect for a single occupant or a couple looking for a place to sleep. Th...

Spent 6 days at the Sully Mansion, using it as a base to see NOLA. Great choice, Able to see sights and not deal will all the crazy traffic in the French Quarter and people. Easy to get around from this Garden District B&B, 1 block to St. Charles streetcar that connects to most things you want to see downtown and uptown, and walking distance to Magazine St. and buses and great restaurants. Nancy and Guy are great hosts and very accommodating to needs and suggestions to eat and things to do. Nice home and breakfasts get you ready for the day. Great baking skills from Nancy. Would highly recommend, and will return to stay again when back in New Orleans.

Room Tip: had the Esplanade room at the end of the hall, good choice away from everyone coming up and down the...

My husband and I stayed at the Sully Mansion Bed and Breakfast for 4 days to celebrate our 35th anniversary. We had a great time! Guy and Nancy provide a great service and we were very well cared for during our visit. The breakfasts are amazing (especially the smoothies!). We ordered the New Orleans Sampler basket and a dozen yellow roses to celebrate and that was a great treat to enjoy during our visit. Gracie the dog is so sweet and loves attention and lots of petting. We would highly recommend the Sully Mansion for a lovely visit to New Orleans!

My wife had never been to New Orleans and I had only briefly visited as a teen. Without a doubt, our 3 days at the Sully Mansion B & B were magic. Superb location, gorgeous room, exceptional food, intriguing guests, and accommodating hosts. Guy and Nancy made us feel welcome from the outset, providing excellent tips on many facets of this complex city. These accomodations allowed us to open up to the New Orleans experience, a city which 'grabs you,' if you let it. We would love to return!
