The staff were very friendly and helpful. Across the courtyard in the back is Ashely House which is considered haunted. We took three tours, two with the staff and other tourists and the third on an off day where we gave them some information and a DVD of photos we had taken as proof the house IS haunted. My husband and I took pictures not only on the tours but at night while in the courtyard. The place is surrounded with Orbs. On tour days we took pictures inside the house AND outside looking at the windows. While comparing the photos there were definite differences. Lights were on in the extension to the house yet nobody was inside. There were faces in some of the windows of people from the era of the house. One photo showed a union soldier's face. By placing that face next to the face of the man in the picture in the living area, they were not the same person. The union soldiers face only appeared in one photo of that window even with pictures taken rapidly one after the other. My camera is a high speed professional one. On the private tour on a Friday, I felt a presence and turned and took a picture of that corner. When I uploaded the pictures to my computer, there were three orbs in that corner and one was traveling. On our first morning though I had a bad experience that had nothing to do with the resort. Someone had stolen some of my medications at the motel where we stayed on route to this resort. I felt cold, as if I were in the water the Titanic was in. I had a seizure and was taken by ambulance to the hospital. Of course that was done discreetly so as not to alarm the other guests. The security guard was very thoughtful and concerned about me when we returned to the resort. We plan to go back. Besides we need to take more pictures of Ashley House. The resort is walking distance to Subway which is where we do a lot of our eating out even here at home. It also is not far from fantastic Creole and Cajun eateries. Be sure to go to the Insectatorium which also is nearby. Oh, they were filming a movie across the street but there was a large long curtain covering what was taking place. It was still a bit exciting. This was back in Nov 2011. I might post pictures later.
