“Outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2013

This place was great. After a horrible dinner the night before at a supposedly "excellent" restaurant in the Quarter, the bar wasn't set too high but this restaurant was fantastic. From the service to the food they got everything right. My friend, who is from New Orleans, took three of us claiming that it was a must. It's just a little unassuming corner place in a local neighborhood that delivers a pleasant surprise. There was a bit of a wait but well, well worth it. The decor is wonderful and makes you feel like you're visiting a home instead of a restaurant. Our waitress was busy but took great care of us and the manager was friendly and talkative. You could see him talking with all the guests at every table. The food? Awesome! I had pancakes with bacon and an order of breakfast potatoes. I don't know what seasoning they used on the potatoes but they were really good. Got a huge amount of food and all for less than $15 a person. They are a breakfast/brunch place so they do close early (2pm I believe) so make sure you go early and enjoy it. This place would be great for couples, families, friends, or solo. Loved it.

“Must Eat in NOLA”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2013

After Katrina, everyone wanted to return home who had fled New Orleans. Thus, the Ruby Slipper was born. Taking its name from iconic shoes that returned Dorothy to Kansas, the Ruby Slipper returns customers to their childhood with fresh eats and tasty coffee.

Anyone who looks to eat a great meal in NOLA needs to eat here. One tip, get there early or come around lunch as the wait can be extensive.

“A NOLA must”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2013 via mobile

This was by far the beat breakfast of our trip. We had six in our party. I tried a bite of everyones and it was all fantastic. Two small problems. First the male host was kind of rude and short with us. Secondly. There is no interior waiting. You have to wait outside for a table. None of that affected the food though.

“AWESOME!!!!!!breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2013 via mobile

Wherever you are in New Orleans go to Ruby slipper for breakfast. I had the Sunday special crab cakes and it was one of the most delicious crab cakes I ever had. The cinnamon pancake, Bellini ,bloody Mary, are all a must. The prices are very reasonable and service was great. You will not be disappointed.
