We have stayed at the Place d'Armes several times and have always enjoyed the experience. Part of the charm is the history of New Orleans and the age of the French Quarter. Guests staying here should expect to have a clean room but in an old, historical building with the patina that comes with time. TV's are older models as are most of the room decor but again, this is not New York with its' glitz & glam. Customer service, quaint rooms, excellent location and charm are what this place oozes.....we will be back again and again.

The room was a good value in my opinion. It wasn't the biggest but was adequate given the price. The service there was friendly and helpful. The location is the best I have stayed at in New Orleans. It is close to everything but far enough away from Bourbon to get away from the noise.

My wife and I stayed here last October. We loved the ambiance and the coziness of our room that was just off of the courtyard on the ground floor. The front desk ladies and the rest of the staff were friendly and very helpful, as were management; this has become our favorite hotel at which to lodge while in the Quarter.

We would have given them 5 out of 5 but there occurred an incident with housekeeping that put us off. Other than that, we have no problem in recommending this hotel highly.

I have to give this 4 stars because the staff was nice, location was great, the room was mostly clean (could have been a bit better), the bed was comfortable...but....you couldn't pay me to ever stay here again. It is BY FAR the creepiest place I have ever been. I didn't sleep at all at night. We came with others who stayed in another part of the hotel and they had the same issue. We all decided to call it quiets by 5am and left to get a different hotel.
