Came down to NOLA for 4 days of vacation and chose the JW for their stay with breakfast package. We arrived around 11 a.m. had requested early check-in and our room was ready. The lobby was sleek and modern. The staff from the doormen, to the front desk and the concierges were all friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Our room was a corner room on the 15th floor with a small view of the Mississippi and the French Quarter from one window and Canal Street from the other. Because it was a corner, you walked down the hall to the closets (with mini-fridge and safe) and bath. The sink was outside and the bathroom had a toilet and shower/tub combo. The room had at least 4 mirrors (maybe 5). Bed was comfortable and room was clean and quiet. All the table tops were marble and the room had a large desk and 2 comfortable chairs and a table. Knowing it was going to be hard to eat healthy in NOLA we picked a breakfast package where we knew we could start our day off right. Breakfast was a buffet (they did have a regular menu but it wasn’t on our package). Besides the standard chafing dishes, every day they had made to order egg white omelets, Belgium waffles, bagels, lox (smoked salmon) and low fat cream cheese, a wonderful assortment of fresh fruit, low fat yogurt, grits, homemade granola and cold cereal. The front entrance and driveway for cars and taxis is on a side street and since we were walking or taking a street car most of the time we found ourselves entering and exiting through the Canal Street entrance which is next to the restaurant. My only complaint about the hotel is that there is no doorman or anyone to greet you when you enter the hotel on Canal Street and after 11 the door is locked on Canal and you needed to use your key to enter the hotel. Other than that we were very happy with our stay.
