“Very Nice Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2011

This is a very nice Hotel, of course it is a Five Star, it leaves you close to the French Quarter but just far enough away that you can't hear the revelrie at night. Very courteous staff from the house keeping personell all the way to the front desk people. I did have one problem with the shower head in the room, but it was replaced by the time I finished breakfast and the staff was very apologetic and offered compensation for the inconvenience. Great stay in a great city!

Room Tip: Higher floors offer a better view. Ask to face either the French Quarter or the river.

The room was nice, and the view terrific. Staff was extremely accommodating and went over and above in their assistance.

We stayed here with our children (ages 3 and 5) for a family reunion this weekend. Our room was clean. I was impressed with how friendly the staff was (although, it is La., and people there ARE friendly.) For example, we got the breakfast buffet and they didn't charge us for them. Also, since they park the cars on site, it was always very quick to get them from the valet. Many hotels in NOLA park offsite, and you end up waiting 30 minutes for your vehicle.

it was walking distance to the quarter, the shops on Canal, and to the St. Charles streetcar. If we weren't leaving the city for family reunions, we would have not needed a car.

We had a late arrival on a Saturday night and were told that there was a water problem so we would be moved to a sister hotel. The front desk staff were very polite and helpful. The doorman was arranging for a taxi as we were speaking to the front desk staff. After less than 5 minutes, they did find us a room so we did not have to move. The room was quiet, clean and a good size. The location was perfect - so close to the French Quarter. We were able to leave our bags at the hotel and wander around before we had to leave for our cruise. Would stay again.

The Marriott is a great location for those looking to explore the French Quarter but the escape the hustle and bustle when it's time to rest. The hotel sits directly on canal street and it's an easy block to the trolley and across the street from the Quarter. The staff is friendly and the rooms were large and well maintained. I found the bed to be quite comfortable--but that's possibly because was usually around 2am when I crawled into it. :)The views from the top floors were fantastic (I was on 29), you could see all over NOLA.

I stayed partially with points and paid the rest. The rate was very reasonable for a great location and a nicely appointed hotel. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for a Saints game and have it booked 3 more times this season. It's centrally located, staff is fabulous, I will go back again and again! I had requested a fridge in the room....but since I'd used a free night certificate, plus paid for 2 night, my reservation was cut in two. They patched me up at the front desk and said they'd send up a fridge right away, which they did!
