“Great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Well located (in the heart of the french quarter), Lafitte guest house is a beautiful traditionnal New-Orleans house. The whole house is decorated with taste and even the smallest room there is both cosy and convenient. Access to a balcony where to enjoy your breakfast as well as to a little kitchen provided with simple but good food for your comfort. Reasonnable prices, friendly welcome from the reception desk to the cleaning lady we really enjoyed our to short staying there.

My wife and I stayed at Lafitte's Guesthouse this past weekend. This is a great hotel, right on Bourbon, across from Lafitte's Blacksmith Bar. Surprisingly the noise from the bar does not carry into the hotel. Very quiet and the most comfortable beds we've slept in. This hotel should have an overall rating of 5 stars. It is currently under new ownership and the remodels that have taken place are wonderful! We usually do multiple trips to New Orleans a year and we will definitely stay here again! Very safe area, close walk to all attractions!

Room Tip: We stayed in Room 33, fantastic view from the blacony

Beautiful old building on the residential end of Bourbon St. A must stay for anyone who enjoys old buildings, New Orleans style architechture, or bed and breakfast type places. Staff was very friendly and always around when needed. Room and hotel was very clean and decorated wonderfully. The only small ding we had against it, was that the tempurature cannot be controlled for each room(no surprise for a 200+ year old building), so we did find it a little warm at night, but that's just a matter of opinion. This is definitely a place to go if you want a place to stay in the quarter.

The LaFitte Guest House is a place we will never forget. Located on the residential side of Bourbon st, this mansion had all the conveniences we needed to enjoy a perfect honeymoon. We were close enough to enjoy all the fun Bourbon st. has to offer but far enough to sit on the balcony and enjoy the beautiful view of New Orleans at night. The room came with a king size bed, fireplace, private balcony, and antique chandelier. With a friendly staff and great owner, this is a place I would return to again.

The French Quarter is an elegantly decadent place that is best visited by staying in an elegantly decadent bottique hotel. The LaFitte Guest House fits the bill exactly. An old (1849) mansion that hits just the right flavors with antique decor, the location at in the resdiential end of Bourbon Street contnues the splendid taste sampler by allowing guests to lounge quietly on the balcony while viewing all the honky-tonk down the street. Shut the doors and you are instantly in sheltered from the bustle. Step outside and you are within blocks of all the best the Quarter can offer. Super friendly and accomodating staff.

One of the best values in New Orleans. The staff went over and beyond to make us feel welcomed, even ran errands and never asked for a tip! The bed and towels were exceptional. The bathrooms are small, but shower was great! Close enough to walk to clubs on Bourbon but still far enough away to get some peaceful sleep. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Just all in all a great place to stay!

Charming, luxurious, friendly and unique is the best way to describe Lafitte's Guest House which is actually a Mansion located on the quieter end of Bourbon. Each room in this mansion is decorated beautifully and like in all the old mansions, each room is sized and layed out different than the next. Poster beds, antique and vintage chandeliers, marble fireplaces, private balconies and fresh flowers in your room are the norm here. It's an upscale, shabby chic - meaning no shabbiness but vintage chic. New owners have replaced all the beds with new ones that you'll find hard to leave. Fresh coffee and biscuits made from scratch await you each morning and you'll not find friendlier owners and management anywhere else in the Quarter. Conveniently located directly across from Lafittes Blacksmith Shop and just down from the Clover Grill - the location is perfect - and it's just a few blocks to Cafe DuMonde, too. Rooms with private balconies facing the Blacksmith Shop will give you a prime viewing spot for the many carriages and ghost tours plus the fun of the Blacksmith Shop. A bonus is sitting on the balcony at dawn experiencing the sun washing over the old roof tops of the Quarter and lightening up downtown. We've visited 5 times, each time choosing a different room and each time delighted with our choice. This is a wonderful experience for those not wanting a chain hotel.
