“Good hotel, renovated and quiet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Stayed for a business trip. The hotel is recently renovated so all fixtures are in good order. 2 restaurants. Rooms are varying sizes and the pictures herein are from a corner suite. Had a convention when I stayed. Walking distance to the tourist attractions, and close enough (4 blocks from Bourbon St) but far enough away to be quiet and away from the street carnival and hustle. Cab service is fixed from the airport although cab drivers may hassle you to stop at an ATM if you are using a credit card. Good restaurants in walking distance. Hotel's restaurants are not overly impressive in cuisine or service. Breakfast is plentiful and the singing omelette man makes certain your breakfast is memorable and his omelettes are great. Elevator service is quick and need a room card to go beyond the 1st floor. The gym is totally new with great equipment and when I stayed not very populated. The pool is small and on the 15th floor beside the gym.

Room Tip: Suite or room with a balcony. May have some noise from the street car if facing St. Charles Street.

A typical American chain hotel, conveniently located a few minutes walk from the French quarter in the CBD. My room (1151) had a view of a car park and had very bad impact marks on the party door (see photo) - made the room look scruffy which given the website boasts of recent refurbishment rather surprised me. Very easily fixed with a lick of paint - so why hasn't this been done before renting it out to guests? Issue with my TV quickly sorted. Agree with other TA comments about inter room noise - particularly through the party door. Tiny roof top pool. Very good in-house restaurant. If staying again in New Orleans, I would probably try for a hotel nearer, and preferably overlooking, the Mississippi.

This is the best hotel in NOLA for a girlfriends getaway, everyone we met was so friendly and helpful, we take 4 trips as a group a year and NOLA along with Intercontinental hotels will definitely be among 2 of those trips!

We had a wonderful time in New Orleans, and staying at the InterContinental was certainly one of the highlights of our stay. The room was comfortable and spacious, and overlooked the courtyard, with a peek at the city. The manager, John, went out of his way to make all guests happy. We dined the first night at Trenasse located right in the hotel--great seafood--which is owned by the same folks who have Stinkys Fish Camp on 30A in Florida. Soooo good! We also had both dinner and breakfast at Luke, which is located right across the street from the hotel.
We wanted a place close enough to walk to the bustle of New Orleans, but quiet enough so we could sleep. This hotel filled the bill and then some.

My wife and I checked into the Intercontinental and it was so bad I really thought we were on some sort of a really bad reality show. The staff was incompetent, inefficient, with a total lack of caring and customer service. They misplaced our luggage, placed us in a dirty room, at the restaurant they got our order wrong and incomplete and that was just the first day - it went down hill from there.

Preferring to stay at Boutique hotels with character, I was a little dubious when I booked to stay at a well known chain, and more nervous when I made a booking for 5 guests, talk about pressure! But needless to say I had nothing to worry about. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by smiling faces, (despite it being close to midnight), which was only made better when we stepped into our rooms. The beds were so large and comfortable, that there were times that I forgot I was sharing! The rooms along with the rest of the hotel, was clean and in top condition. The hotel is a perfect walking distance from the hustle and bustle, and I looked forward to coming back and resting every evening. After checking out of the hotel, and with several hours to our flight, I was feeling extremely unwell, Anthony allowed me to go back to the room and sleep it off for a few hours before heading home, I will always be grateful for this. I will never hesitate to stay at another Intercontinental Hotel and couldn’t recommend this enough. Great location, friendly staff and yummy breakfasts.

The rooms are very nice but the walls seem to be very thin, we could hear the draws open next door .Also we could hear the elevator as it traveled up.The people that worked there were very nice especially Christina.Nice pool on the roof.Close to all the action.

Room Tip: Far far far away from the elevator
